Dealer's description

The 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner convertible was one of the few Ford models to increase sales this year, while the total offered climbed to 19 different models. A total of 58,417 Sunliners left the factory, which was an increase of 8,181 over the previous year. The new Fords widened the grill to include the sidelights, as Chevy had done, made the trim brighter and more complicated and also included safety options like padded dashes and sun visors and seat belts. Among the decade's most iconic open-air cruisers, the Fairlane Sunliner represented the pinnacle of Ford's full-size convertible offerings, blending style, power, and modern convenience. With its low-slung profile, sweeping chrome side trim, and elegant two-tone paint schemes, the Sunliner epitomized Jet Age optimism. This astounding, fully-restored 1956 Fairlane Sunliner checks every proverbial box for diehard Blue Oval enthusiasts: stunning two-tone colors, top-of-the-line engine, and an extensive options list. Its striking period-correct colors of Raven Black over Goldenglow Yellow pair beautifully with the black and yellow vinyl interior. Exterior accessories include front and rear bumper guards, continental kit, fender skirts, wire wheel covers, wide whitewall tires, rear-mounted antenna, right-side mirror, chrome headlight half-moon covers and rocker panel trim. A snug-fitting black cloth, power activated convertible top completes the package. The stunning two-tone black and yellow interior is authentic in appearance, but upgraded with modern retro radio and air conditioning for maximum enjoyment. Making the car even more attractive, it is equipped with Ford's potent Thunderbird Special V-8 engine. For 1956, Ford offered a wide range of engine options, but it was the potent Thunderbird Special V-8 that transformed the Sunliner from a stylish cruiser into a genuine performer. Displacing 312 cubic inches, this high-output version of Ford's Y-block V-8 delivered up to 225 horsepower and made the Sunliner as enjoyable to drive as it was to admire, especially when combined with Ford's automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. HIGHLIGHTS: Optional 312 Thunderbird Special V-8 Automatic Transmission Fully Restored Car Power Steering Power Brakes Power Convertible Top Dual Exhaust Continental Kit Fender Skirts Front Grill Guard Rear Bumper Guard Factory-Style Wire Wheel Covers White Whitewall tires Air Conditioning Upgraded Radio Equal parts graceful and powerful, this 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner embodies the spirit of its optimistic era, a time when driving was as much about the journey as the destination.
