2026 Hyundai Venue Reviews SummaryAutomakers have traditionally had a hard time making money on entry-level subcompact cars, because they have low profit margins, but America has largely moved away from cars to crossover SUVs—and higher prices. That allows car companies to offer an entry-level subcompact SUV for thousands more than a similar sedan or hatchback. Such is the case with the Hyundai Venue, which costs more than its predecessor, the subcompact Accent that was dropped after the 2022 model year. While the price is higher, the advantage for buyers is a vehicle that generally has more cargo space and is more practical. We recently drove the 2026 Hyundai Venue SEL w/2-Tone Roof (yes, that’s the trim level name) to find out if a subcompact crossover is a better buy than a cheaper subcompact car. Verdict: The Hyundai Venue sacrifices refinement for a price point that isn’t as low as a comparable subcompact car. We’d be tempted to spend a little more for a slightly larger compact car with more power, features, and refinement.
2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Reviews SummaryThe Grand Wagoneer is a full-size SUV and shares its body-on-frame platform with the Ram 1500 pickup truck. It gets a refresh for 2026 that includes a new illuminated grille, more affordable pricing, and a simplified trim and naming structure. Even with the new lower starting price, the Grand Wagoneer is still packed with a lot of standard up-level features and has one of the best third-row seats in the segment. Verdict: The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a super-sized SUV that needs plenty of space to maneuver. While it’s a bit out of place in a city, the Grand Wagoneer shines in the suburbs or on road trips, begging for a family to fill its comfortable seats. It offers generous seating for up to eight passengers with good shoulder room in the third row to fit three children or small adults comfortably and has competitive cargo space for a vehicle in this segment.

The 2026 Hyundai Venue was classified as a crossover SUV, though its dimensions and design leaned more towards a tall hatchback. It featured only front-wheel drive and had a ground clearance of 6.7 inches, which was higher than a typical car but not as elevated as most crossover SUVs. The EPA categorized it as a midsize car due to its interior space. The Venue's design was more crossover-like, with a small and narrow appearance reminiscent of European runabouts. Its upright windshield, bluff nose, and standard roof rails contributed to its SUV-like aesthetic. The Venue's high nose was complemented by lower headlights and high-set daytime running lights, while black wheel flares and a two-tone roof added to its SUV cues. Inside, the Venue offered a simple and functional look, with a digital instrument cluster and a small touchscreen that resembled an iPad affixed to the dash.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, four years into its lifecycle, received a refresh that retained its upright stance, low belt line, and large windows. The new illuminated grille and welcome-lighting sequence gave it a modern vibe, inspired by the all-electric Wagoneer S. The Upland trim added front recovery hooks in the lower fascia, enhancing utility without compromising elegance. Inside, the Grand Wagoneer boasted a modern design with strong horizontal lines. The 12-inch infotainment screen, though seemingly small for such a large vehicle, was complemented by redundant HVAC and audio controls. The seats, while plain in appearance, were comfortable and highly adjustable, making them suitable for various drivers. The cabin's trim and materials were premium, with options for Nappa and Palermo leather, and a suede headliner. The overall fit and finish were rated highly, with solid-feeling components throughout.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue was powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. This power was channeled through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to the front wheels, with no all-wheel drive option. The Venue's 0-60 mph time ranged from 8.5 to 8.8 seconds, which was respectable given its lightweight 2,738-pound frame. While peppy in city traffic, the Venue struggled at highway speeds, with the transmission slow to downshift for more power. The engine droned under heavy throttle, and the lack of sound deadening made for a noisy ride. Handling was aided by the Venue's small size and low weight, making it agile in traffic and easy to park. However, the 6.7 inches of ground clearance led to some body lean in corners, and the ride was jiggly on rough surfaces due to the solid rear axle.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer featured a 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine, delivering 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. This engine provided smooth and effortless power, even for the hefty 6,000-pound vehicle. The Grand Wagoneer also offered a range-extended electric powertrain with a 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine, producing an estimated 647 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. This setup promised a total range of over 500 miles. Despite its large size, the Grand Wagoneer was surprisingly agile and easy to drive, with excellent visibility and a quiet cabin. The seats were comfortable for long drives, and the vehicle absorbed road imperfections well.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue's interior featured cloth and H-Tex seats with black upholstery and white contrast stitching, offering decent comfort and six-way manual adjustments. While headroom was ample, legroom was limited for taller occupants. The rear seat accommodated average-sized adults, but taller passengers would struggle for legroom. The rear seats folded flat in a 60/40 split, providing 31.9 cubic feet of cargo space, which was modest compared to other compact crossovers. The Venue's interior was dominated by hard black plastic, with limited soft-touch surfaces.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer excelled as a people mover, with three rows offering ample leg and hip room. The optional second-row bench seat allowed for up to eight passengers, with the third row accommodating three people comfortably. While using the third row reduced cargo space to 27.9 cubic feet, the long-wheelbase version nearly doubled this capacity. The Grand Wagoneer could tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. It featured three-zone automatic climate controls, heated-and-ventilated front seats, and power-operated seats, with the Upland model offering off-road capabilities like Quadra-Lift air suspension and skid plates.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue came with an 8-inch touchscreen for basic infotainment, offering phone, radio, media, and phone-projection connections. It lacked features like navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot but included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The audio system was a simple six-speaker unit, with no premium option available.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, and a wireless phone charger. It also featured a hands-free power liftgate, three-zone automatic climate controls, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Higher trims offered a 23-speaker McIntosh premium sound system, a front passenger interactive display, and four-zone climate controls. However, the wireless phone charger had issues with overheating, and the 12-inch screen felt small for the vehicle's size.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue offered standard safety features like forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver-attention monitor. However, it lacked adaptive cruise control. The Venue received a four-star safety rating from the NHTSA, with mixed ratings from the IIHS.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was packed with safety features, including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and a surround-view camera system. It received fair ratings from both the NHTSA and IIHS, with some lower scores in crash tests.
