Dealer's description
1973 BMW 3.0 CSL Coupe for sale! Motorcar Classics is proud to present this stunning 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL featured in Inka Orange with black interior. This is an original Inka car that was restored by Peter and the experts at Coupe King in Los Angeles, renowned for classic BMW restoration. It was a feature car in Roundel magazine in 2003/4. The interior features Recaro driver and passenger seats and both the wood, trim and upholstery are excellent. The engine and all mechanical components are original and all the appropriate stickers remain in place. The tools and jack are included. The car is in show condition and a delight to drive. The BMW 3.0 CSL is a racing homologation special based on the E9 chassis. It has a strong 3.3L inline-six cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It has Bilstein suspension and the Street Package with bumpers, glass windows, tool kit and thin steel doors. CSL stands for Coupe Sports Licht (for lightweight), and it shed a bunch of weight compared to the standard model thanks to thinner steel body panels and removed sound deadening. Our CSL has been cherished as part of a prominent collection and this is its first appearance on the market in decades. In Peter's description, which we gratefully acknowledge for some of these details, he wrote, Ran like the hammers of hell, all that lazy torque from the 3.3 in the light shell. It is truly an investment-grade example.
