2025 BMW 3 Series Reviews Summary

To enjoy driving a new 3 Series, you don’t need to upgrade to the M340i or the M3, though we certainly wouldn’t discourage you if those models are within your budget. Instead, try the standard 330i with the M Sport Package. It’s surprisingly satisfying. Plus, minor updates and refinements make the 2025 3 Series better than ever. However, the plug-in hybrid powertrain is gone, so for that, you’ll need to find a leftover 2024.

Verdict: The 2025 BMW 3 Series isn’t perfect, but it’s perfectly enjoyable to drive. Also, for a car nearing the end of its current generation, it offers remarkably advanced technology. A redesign is coming soon, but the current version remains one of our favorites.

2026 Audi A6 Reviews Summary

The redesigned 2026 Audi A6 marks the ninth generation of midsize luxury sedans from Ingolstadt, Germany. While it shares a name and some tech features with the Audi A6 e-tron introduced for the 2025 model year, the gasoline A6 is an otherwise different vehicle based on the same Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) as the A5 sedan and Q5 crossover. A redesign was certainly needed as most other midsize luxury sedans—specifically the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class—were renewed more recently, and we haven’t had a genuinely new A6 since the 2020 model year.

Verdict: On paper, the A6 looks like more of a premium product than before. But it doesn’t feel that way from behind the wheel, and the tech is a work in progress.

2025 BMW 3 Series

8/10

2026 Audi A6

7/10

The 2025 BMW 3 Series maintained a conservative design approach, aligning with its historical significance as a key model for BMW. While other series like the 2, 5, and 7 Series embraced more expressive designs, the 3 Series opted for subtle updates. These included new paint colors, intricate wheel designs, and minor dashboard revisions to accommodate a technology upgrade. The 330i test vehicle, finished in the new Vegas Red, featured an M Sport upgrade, adding sport-tuned suspension and variable sport steering. The interior, though dark and businesslike, exuded quality with brushed aluminum trim and metallic detailing. Despite the absence of the Shadowline Package, the 3 Series maintained its reputation for robust materials and construction.

In contrast, the 2026 Audi A6 presented a handsome yet understated design, with a lower and more pronounced "singleframe" grille. The A6's lighting features, including pixelated LED headlights and programmable taillights, added a touch of modernity. Available in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims, the A6 offered a sedan-only option, with the previous-generation RS 6 Avant and A6 Allroad wagons still available. The S Line Black Optic Package for the Prestige trim added sportier elements, while the Sport Plus Package included larger wheels and a sportier suspension. Despite these enhancements, the A6's interior materials felt disappointingly bland, even in top-spec models.

Performance

8/10

2026 Audi A6

7/10

The 2025 BMW 3 Series offered a range of performance options, with the 330i model delivering swift acceleration, reaching 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, it produced 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission, with Sport mode and paddle shifters, provided a dynamic driving experience. The M Sport Package added a sport suspension and variable sport steering, enhancing the car's handling. Despite not having the Dynamic Handling Package, the 330i M Sport demonstrated impressive stopping power and fuel efficiency, achieving 31 mpg in combined driving.

The 2026 Audi A6, powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivered 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive, the A6 accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The Sport Plus Package included a sport rear differential and rear-axle steering, enhancing handling and stability. However, the dual-clutch transmission exhibited hesitation under heavy throttle, and the ride quality suffered with the steel-spring suspension. Despite these drawbacks, the A6 remained a stable and composed car, better suited for highway driving.

Form and function

2025 BMW 3 Series

7/10

2026 Audi A6

8/10

The 2025 BMW 3 Series, a compact luxury sedan, offered a snug interior suitable for four adults. The 330i featured power-adjustable heated sport seats with SensaTec artificial leather, though finding the right seating position proved challenging. The rear seat provided excellent support, but legroom was limited by hard plastic front seatback panels. Interior storage was ample, with a 16.9-cubic-foot trunk and 40/20/40-split folding rear seats for added versatility.

The 2026 Audi A6, slightly longer than its predecessor, maintained the same wheelbase, resulting in no significant increase in passenger space. The panoramic glass roof improved front-seat headroom, while rear-seat dimensions remained unchanged. The A6 offered comparable space to a BMW 5 Series, with climate controls and USB-C ports for rear passengers. The trunk, with 13.5 cubic feet of space, was smaller than the 3 Series but featured split-folding rear seats for added cargo flexibility.

Technology

2025 BMW 3 Series

9/10

2026 Audi A6

7/10

The 2025 BMW 3 Series featured an upgraded infotainment system with BMW Operating System 8.5, offering a 14.9-inch touchscreen and iDrive controls. The BMW Intelligent Assistant responded accurately to voice commands, while the optional Harman Kardon surround-sound system impressed with its audio quality. The Parking Assistance Package facilitated easy parking with front and rear sensors and multiple camera angles.

The 2026 Audi A6 introduced the Digital Stage setup, with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. However, the MMI infotainment system's layout was oversimplified and challenging to navigate. Audi's voice recognition system and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provided some relief, but the interface required improvement. The optional Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system featured headrest speakers for navigation directions.

Safety

2025 BMW 3 Series

9/10

2026 Audi A6

6/10

The 2025 BMW 3 Series included various safety features, though determining standard equipment was challenging due to package groupings. The Active Protection System prepared the car for collisions, while Active Guard and Active Driving Assistant offered forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. The Driving Assistance Package added adaptive cruise control, and the Driving Assistance Professional Package included advanced features like lane-centering assist. The 3 Series earned top crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS.

The 2026 Audi A6 came standard with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and other driver-assist features. The lane-centering feature allowed some wobbling, but robust driver monitoring helped prevent misuse. Crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS were unavailable at the time of writing.
