2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Reviews Summary

The 2025 Honda Civic lineup gets a big change with the debut of a new Hybrid model that promises more power and significantly improved fuel economy. A slight styling refresh and new features further benefit this affordable and attractive compact car, which is still available in sedan or hatchback body styles.

2026 Audi A6 Reviews Summary

The redesigned 2026 Audi A6 marks the ninth generation of midsize luxury sedans from Ingolstadt, Germany. While it shares a name and some tech features with the Audi A6 e-tron introduced for the 2025 model year, the gasoline A6 is an otherwise different vehicle based on the same Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) as the A5 sedan and Q5 crossover. A redesign was certainly needed as most other midsize luxury sedans—specifically the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class—were renewed more recently, and we haven’t had a genuinely new A6 since the 2020 model year.

Verdict: On paper, the A6 looks like more of a premium product than before. But it doesn’t feel that way from behind the wheel, and the tech is a work in progress.

Look and feel

2025 Honda Civic Hybrid

7/10

2026 Audi A6

7/10

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid underwent a subtle yet effective styling refresh, primarily focused on the front fascia. The reshaped grilles and slightly extended body section between them gave the Civic a sharper, sleeker appearance, adding a touch of sporty aggression that was previously absent. The exterior design struck a balance between being neither too flashy nor bland, maintaining classic proportions in a sophisticated package. The hatchback hybrid version, available later in the summer, enhanced sportiness with a sleeker profile and distinctive tail lights. Inside, the Civic retained its well-regarded interior, featuring hidden air vents behind a mesh grille and an infotainment touchscreen. Higher trims offered a digital instrument panel, enhancing the high-tech feel. Materials quality was excellent, with soft-touch materials in key areas and a herringbone-like texture on the center console, minimizing fingerprints and dust. The rear seats, while substituting some soft-touch materials for durability, lacked air vents and charge ports, making them feel more basic. The Civic Si and Type R interiors featured sport seats, red stitching, and other enhancements for a youthful appeal.

The 2026 Audi A6, like its smaller sibling the A5, presented a handsome yet understated design. The signature "singleframe" grille was lowered and pushed forward, while fender flares and a pronounced rib along the sides added definition. Although not as striking as a Cadillac CT5, the A6 was more subdued than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Audi's lighting innovation included pixelated LED headlights with programmable signatures and taillights moved to accommodate programmable icons. However, the similarity between symbols like the hazard triangle and auto park "A" was a drawback. The A6 was available in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims, with the S Line Black Optic Package adding sporty elements. The Sport Plus Package offered 21-inch wheels and a sport rear differential for enhanced handling. The Audi Exclusive Design Package featured two-tone Nappa leather seats, but materials elsewhere felt disappointingly bland. Overall, the A6's design was more about subtle elegance than bold statements.

Performance

2025 Honda Civic Hybrid

7/10

2026 Audi A6

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid featured a new hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a total output of 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. This setup replaced the previous 1.5-liter turbo engine, offering a 36% improvement in fuel economy. The hybrid system provided a responsive driving experience, with initial acceleration often all-electric, transitioning seamlessly to the gasoline engine. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) remained smooth and quiet, even under more aggressive throttle. Regenerative braking was adjustable via steering wheel paddles, though one-pedal driving wasn't available. The suspension favored comfort, yet the Civic handled confidently in turns. Active noise cancellation contributed to a quieter ride, enhancing long-distance comfort. The Si and Type R variants prioritized performance, sacrificing some ride comfort for racetrack-like handling.

The 2026 Audi A6 was powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, producing 362 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive. This setup offered a 4.5-second 0-60 mph time, quicker than base models of the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class. However, the transmission exhibited hesitation under heavy throttle. The A6's handling was enhanced by brake-based torque vectoring and an optional sport rear differential, though the latter's benefits were most noticeable under aggressive driving. The Sport Plus Package included a lower ride height and rear-axle steering, improving handling but compromising ride comfort. The base steering system provided precision, though the Dynamic mode added artificial heft. Overall, the A6 excelled in highway stability but was less suited for spirited driving on twisty roads.

Form and function

2025 Honda Civic Hybrid

2026 Audi A6

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid offered spacious front seats with ample adjustments for larger drivers, aided by narrow roof pillars for good visibility. Rear visibility was somewhat limited by a tall rear decklid, necessitating reliance on the rearview camera. Controls were well-placed, with conventional climate knobs and steering wheel buttons for ease of use. Storage included a rubberized wireless charging pad, larger cup holders, and a deep center armrest bin, though door pockets were small. Rear seats provided adequate space for average-sized adults, with ample headroom and legroom. However, the absence of air vents and USB ports was a notable oversight. The trunk offered 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space, with a low liftover height and remote rear seatback releases for added convenience.

The 2026 Audi A6, despite being 2.4 inches longer than its predecessor, didn't gain passenger space due to an unchanged wheelbase. Front-seat headroom increased thanks to a panoramic glass roof, but rear-seat headroom and legroom remained similar. The A6 offered comparable space to the BMW 5 Series, with rear-seat climate controls and USB-C ports. Heated and ventilated front seats were standard, with optional sport seats featuring massagers. The trunk, with 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, provided 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space, more than a Cadillac CT5 or Mercedes E-Class but less than the 5 Series.

Technology

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid's base LX trim featured a seven-inch touchscreen, HondaLink app integration, and a four-speaker audio system. The Sport trim doubled the speaker count, while the top Touring trim added a digital instrument panel, a nine-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone integration, and a wireless charging pad. The Sport Touring Hybrid trim introduced a Google Built-in operating system, enhancing voice commands and integrating online features. The infotainment system was user-friendly, with quick responses and sharp graphics. The wireless charger accommodated larger phones securely.

The 2026 Audi A6 introduced the Digital Stage setup, with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. An optional 10.9-inch front-passenger touchscreen addressed the main screen's driver-oriented tilt. Despite larger screens, the MMI infotainment system's oversimplified layouts hindered usability. Audi's improved voice recognition and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto helped, but small text in the instrument cluster was challenging. Audi planned a mid-year interface upgrade, adding a dashcam and a new steering wheel. The optional Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system featured headrest speakers for navigation directions.

Safety

2026 Audi A6

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid earned five stars from the NHTSA for overall, side, and rollover protection, and four stars for frontal collisions. The 2024 Civic received the IIHS's highest "Good" rating in most tests, with "Acceptable" scores in updated frontal overlap and side tests. The Civic was a Top Safety Pick, with potential for improved scores due to frame strengthening. Standard safety features included forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim added a blind-spot monitor, while the Touring trim extended automatic braking to parking speeds and added parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers.

The 2026 Audi A6 came standard with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors, traffic-sign recognition, parking sensors, and lane-departure warning. Premium Plus and Prestige trims added park-assist, adaptive cruise assist with lane centering, and a 360-degree camera system. The lane-centering feature allowed some lane wobble, but robust driver monitoring helped prevent misuse. Crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA were unavailable at the time of writing.
