2025 Chevrolet Traverse Reviews Summary

Redesigned in 2024, the 2025 Traverse gets a few additional changes. The base LS trim level disappears and the upscale High Country trim level is new. Chevrolet also makes the formerly optional Trailering Package standard equipment—so it’s easier to take advantage of the Traverse’s 5,000-pound towing capacity—and a new Sun and Wheel Package is available. Those updates broaden this Chevy’s appeal but do not address perceived quality issues related to the powertrain and interior materials.

Verdict: Chevy gets a lot of things right with the 2025 Traverse. However, there are head-scratchers related to quality and usability. From the unpleasant engine note and cheap interior plastics to the fussy wiper controls and aggravating third-row folding process, the Traverse regularly draws unfavorable attention to itself.

2025 Jeep Wrangler Reviews Summary

You know what you’re getting with the Jeep Wrangler: Iconic looks and legendary off-road ability but an overall package somewhat out of step with the times. Even so, it’s a model that’s continually evolving and Jeep does its best to appeal to the broadest cross-section of customers possible. You can get a Wrangler with two-door or four-door body styles, and your choice between three engines and seven trim levels. This year, all 2025 Wrangler models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, while new colors include ’41 (drab green), Mojito (bright green), and Joose (orange).

Verdict: Rough, raw, and unrefined, the 2025 Wrangler is made for adventure and getting dirty. The top comes off. The doors come off. There are drain holes in the floor so that you can hose it out. This Jeep can be unpleasant to drive daily, yet we love it just the same.

2025 Chevrolet Traverse

7/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

6/10

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse showcased a commendable exterior design, aligning with Chevrolet's recent trend of stylish SUVs. Its interior design was equally appealing, featuring digital instrumentation and a Google-based infotainment system. However, the quality of materials used inside the Traverse was a letdown. The hard, glossy plastic and Evotex artificial leather failed to emulate the luxury expected in a vehicle of its price range. Despite these shortcomings, the Traverse offered a range of trims, including the LT, Z71, High Country, and RS, with prices starting at $41,095. The Z71 trim, which was tested, came with additional features like Radiant Red paint and a panoramic sunroof, bringing its MSRP to $55,900.

In contrast, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S, encountered during a rental experience in Hawaii, was less about aesthetics and more about functionality. The black-on-black color scheme was not ideal for the tropical climate, but the Wrangler's design allowed for an open-air experience that made the color less significant. The Wrangler was available in various trims, including the Sport, Willys, Sahara, and Rubicon, with prices ranging from $34,685 to $63,995. The Sport S model tested had a few options, including a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a black hardtop, bringing its MSRP to $49,175. Despite its rugged appeal and iconic design, the Wrangler's interior lacked sophistication, focusing more on durability and utility.

Performance

2025 Chevrolet Traverse

6/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

7/10

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse was powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. While the engine provided ample power, it was criticized for its unpleasant exhaust note. The Traverse's all-wheel-drive system improved acceleration and control, especially in the Z71 trim, which was equipped for off-road adventures. With 7.7 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and a Twin Clutch AWD system, the Z71 handled trails and rough terrain with ease. Despite its off-road capabilities, the Traverse was more suited for daily driving, offering a smooth ride and decent fuel efficiency, averaging 21.5 mpg in combined driving.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler offered a choice between a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The latter, which was tested, delivered 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, providing a lively performance, especially at higher elevations. The Wrangler's standard four-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and narrow width made it ideal for exploring Hawaii's diverse landscapes. However, its ride was rough, and handling was sloppy, with a three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA. Despite these drawbacks, the Wrangler's off-road prowess was undeniable, capable of tackling challenging terrains with ease.

Form and function

2025 Chevrolet Traverse

2025 Jeep Wrangler

4/10

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse boasted a spacious interior, accommodating up to eight passengers with its available second-row bench seat. The Z71 trim featured heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, enhancing comfort during colder weather. While the Traverse offered ample cargo space, with up to 97.6 cubic feet available, its practicality was hindered by the lack of third-row USB ports and smartphone pockets. The third-row seats were challenging to fold, requiring adjustments to the second-row seats for proper operation.

In contrast, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler's interior was less about space and more about rugged utility. Getting in and out of the Wrangler was challenging due to its high ground clearance and narrow door openings. The Sport S trim's cloth upholstery and heated front seats provided comfort, but rear-seat legroom was limited. Storage space was minimal, with small items often ending up in cupholders. The Wrangler's cargo area was accessible through a tailgate and rear window, offering 31.7 cubic feet of space, expandable to 72.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Technology

2025 Chevrolet Traverse

2025 Jeep Wrangler

7/10

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse impressed with its standard 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system's user interface was intuitive, with Google Assistant providing accurate voice recognition. The Traverse also offered an 11-inch digital instrumentation panel with customizable views. Optional features included a digital rearview mirror and a high-definition surround-view camera system, enhancing convenience and safety.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler's Uconnect 5 infotainment system was a highlight, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. The system remained easy to use, even with the roof panels removed. The Convenience Group pack added a 7-inch digital display between the analog gauges, providing access to various information. Optional features included a nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system and Jeep Connect services, offering off-road navigation capabilities.

Safety

2025 Jeep Wrangler

4/10

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse came equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver aids, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane-keep assist. The Driver Confidence Package added a surround-view camera system and traffic sign recognition, while the Enhanced Driving Package offered Super Cruise, a hands-free driving assist system. The Traverse received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA and a "Top Safety Pick" award from the IIHS.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler, starting with the 2024 model, included side curtain airbags as standard equipment. Optional safety features included blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, with forward collision warning available on higher trims. The Wrangler received a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS rated the Wrangler "Good" for side-impact protection but "Marginal" for small overlap frontal-impact tests.
