2024 Toyota Sienna Reviews Summary

Now in its fourth generation, the latest family hauler is offered only as a fuel-sipping hybrid model with three rows of seating and power sliding doors. Plus the Sienna comes standard with plenty of safety features and it’s comfy to boot. Why even both with an SUV?

Verdict: The 2024 Toyota Sienna delivers impressive fuel efficiency, thanks to its standard hybrid engine. Toyota also offers optional all-wheel drive, and many shoppers may appreciate the Sienna's dramatic exterior styling. Performance, while efficient, isn't thrilling, and the Sienna's tech is looking a bit outdated. Otherwise, this minivan delivers great value.

2025 Jeep Wrangler Reviews Summary

You know what you’re getting with the Jeep Wrangler: Iconic looks and legendary off-road ability but an overall package somewhat out of step with the times. Even so, it’s a model that’s continually evolving and Jeep does its best to appeal to the broadest cross-section of customers possible. You can get a Wrangler with two-door or four-door body styles, and your choice between three engines and seven trim levels. This year, all 2025 Wrangler models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, while new colors include ’41 (drab green), Mojito (bright green), and Joose (orange).

Verdict: Rough, raw, and unrefined, the 2025 Wrangler is made for adventure and getting dirty. The top comes off. The doors come off. There are drain holes in the floor so that you can hose it out. This Jeep can be unpleasant to drive daily, yet we love it just the same.

Look and feel

2024 Toyota Sienna

8/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

6/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna presented a distinctive appearance with its various trim levels, including LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum. Despite the absence of the "swagger wagon" commercials, the Sienna maintained its stylish vibe, competing closely with the Kia Carnival in terms of aesthetics. The Sienna featured sleek front and rear fascias and was available in vibrant colors like deep blue, red, or green. Standard LED lighting was a highlight, with upper trims boasting Bi-LED projector headlamps. The XSE trim, known for its sporty appeal, included a black metallic mesh front grille, black heated side mirrors, and 20-inch dark wheels. The Woodland Edition, available in exclusive Cement or Midnight Black Metallic colors, was designed for a bit more off-road readiness, featuring roof rails with crossbars, a tow hitch, and slightly increased ground clearance.

Inside, the Sienna offered standard cloth seats, three-zone climate control, and seating for eight. The XSE trim with the optional Premium package replaced the second-row bench seat with captain’s chairs and added heated and cooled leather-trimmed front seats. The interior design featured horizontal lines for a spacious feel, a fixed center console with satin accents, and easily accessible cup holders and shifter. While not luxurious, the interior was practical for families, with upper trims offering a built-in vacuum cleaner for convenience.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S hardtop, encountered during a rental experience in Honolulu, was a black-on-black model with dark gray wheels. Despite the heat-absorbing color combination, the Wrangler's appeal lay in its open-air driving experience, with removable overhead panels and a liftglass. The Wrangler was available in various trims, including Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392, with the latter featuring a powerful 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine. The Wrangler's price range spanned from $34,685 to $63,995, with the Sport S model equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission, resulting in an MSRP of $49,175.

Despite its nearly $50,000 price tag, the Wrangler's interior was functional rather than luxurious, with gray fabric dashboard trim, metallic accents, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Wrangler's design evoked themes of American freedom, rooted in its World War II military vehicle heritage and its capability to traverse diverse terrains. The iconic seven-slot front grille and Made in the U.S.A. label added to its appeal, making it a popular choice despite its lack of sophistication compared to modern vehicles.

Performance

2024 Toyota Sienna

6/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

7/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna was equipped with a hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, producing a total of 245 horsepower. All-wheel drive models featured an additional electric motor for the rear wheels. While the Sienna offered a sport-tuned suspension and a Sport mode for improved acceleration, it was not known for its performance. The minivan felt sluggish off the line, and the continuously variable transmission (CVT) contributed to a less engaging driving experience. Acceleration was smooth but slow, particularly when merging onto highways or climbing mountain passes. The CVT could become noisy, and the brakes were occasionally grabby. However, the Sienna provided a pleasant driving experience around town, with excellent visibility and light, accurate steering.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler offered a choice between a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The four-cylinder engine produced 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, offering slightly better fuel efficiency with an EPA rating of 21 mpg in combined driving. During a week-long evaluation in Hawaii, the Wrangler achieved an average fuel economy of 19.2 mpg. The Wrangler's standard four-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and generous approach and departure angles made it well-suited for off-road adventures. However, its ride was rough, with a steady stream of jiggles and jolts, and the steering felt disconnected. The Wrangler's three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA was a concern, requiring caution when driving laterally across slopes.

Form and function

2024 Toyota Sienna

8/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

4/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna excelled in interior space and functionality, with a lower storage pass-through for bulkier items, four cupholders up front, and additional holders in the front doors. A shelf above the glovebox housed the available wireless charging pad. The second-row captain’s chairs could slide fore and aft 25 inches, providing up to 40 inches of legroom. However, the slide function was complex, and the seats couldn't be removed, limiting maximum cargo space. The third row offered ample legroom, with 39 inches available when the second row was pushed forward. The Sienna featured tri-zone climate control, with an additional zone for the front passenger in the XSE trim. The rear liftgate revealed 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 101 cubic feet with the second row folded.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler's high ground clearance and narrow door openings made entry and exit challenging. The front seats were comfortable, with cloth upholstery and heated options available. Rear-seat legroom was adequate, but taller passengers needed to be cautious of plastic hooks on the front seatback panels. Storage space was limited, with small items often ending up in cupholders. Accessing the cargo area required opening the tailgate and lifting the hardtop's rear window. The Wrangler offered 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 72.4 cubic feet with the back seat folded.

The 2024 Toyota Sienna featured an older infotainment system with a nine-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and physical buttons for common menus. The backup camera's view was grainy, and the analog gauges included a 7-inch digital display. The Sienna offered a standard Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an optional 12-speaker JBL stereo system. USB ports were scattered throughout the cabin, and a 1500-watt inverter with a 120-volt outlet was available. Optional features included an 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system and a 10-inch color head-up display.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler boasted the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. The Sport S trim included an eight-speaker stereo, with a nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system optional. Jeep Connect offered a Wi-Fi hotspot, Adventure Guides, and GPS Trail Logs. The Convenience Group pack added a 7-inch digital display, passive entry, and a remote engine starting system. Rear parking sensors were part of the Active Safety Group option pack.

2025 Jeep Wrangler

4/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna came standard with the Toyota Safety Sense suite, including lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert were also standard. The Sienna received a four-star frontal crash and rollover protection rating and a five-star side crash protection rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS awarded the Sienna a "Good" rating in crashworthiness and seat belt and child restraint systems, with an "Average" rating in front crash prevention.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler featured standard side curtain airbags for front and rear seats. Advanced driver assistance systems were optional, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert available on most trims. Forward collision warning with automatic braking was limited to the Wrangler Sahara. The Wrangler received a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS awarded the Wrangler a "Good" rating for side-impact protection and moderate overlap frontal-impact test, but a "Marginal" rating in the small overlap frontal-impact test.
