2024 Toyota Sienna Reviews Summary

Now in its fourth generation, the latest family hauler is offered only as a fuel-sipping hybrid model with three rows of seating and power sliding doors. Plus the Sienna comes standard with plenty of safety features and it’s comfy to boot. Why even both with an SUV?

Verdict: The 2024 Toyota Sienna delivers impressive fuel efficiency, thanks to its standard hybrid engine. Toyota also offers optional all-wheel drive, and many shoppers may appreciate the Sienna's dramatic exterior styling. Performance, while efficient, isn't thrilling, and the Sienna's tech is looking a bit outdated. Otherwise, this minivan delivers great value.

2025 INFINITI QX80 Reviews Summary

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is the Nissan luxury brand’s de facto flagship. It’s a full-size SUV that competes with the BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator, and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. The QX80 benefits from a redesign for 2025 with new styling, a new powertrain, and updated tech features.

Verdict: The QX80 emphasizes interior space and tech gadgets over driving dynamics.

Look and feel

2024 Toyota Sienna

8/10

2025 INFINITI QX80

8/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna, available in various trims such as LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum, presented a distinctive appearance. Despite the absence of the "swagger wagon" commercials, the Sienna maintained its stylish vibe with sleek front and rear fascias and a range of cool colors like deep blue, red, or green. LED lighting was standard, with upper trims featuring Bi-LED projector headlamps. The XSE trim, known for its sporty look, included a black metallic mesh front grille, black heated side mirrors, and 20-inch dark wheels. The Woodland Edition, available in exclusive Cement or Midnight Black Metallic colors, was designed for off-road readiness with roof rails, a tow hitch, and slightly increased ground clearance. The Sienna's interior offered cloth seats, three-zone climate control, and room for eight, with the XSE trim's optional Premium package adding leather-trimmed heated and cooled front seats and a leather-trimmed power steering wheel.

The 2025 INFINITI QX80 underwent its first redesign since 2017, growing slightly in length and width while retaining its body-on-frame architecture. The new frame improved torsional and lateral stiffness significantly. The QX80's styling updates were most notable at the front, with a larger grille and a creased hood for added visual interest. The stacked-headlight setup and full-width LED taillights contributed to its imposing look. The QX80 was available in Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autobiography trims, with varying wheel sizes and designs. The interior featured a high-tech makeover with a large horizontal display, 64-color ambient lighting, and a mix of leatherette and semi-aniline leather upholstery, depending on the trim. The QX80 offered a spacious cabin with increased legroom and a maximum towing capacity of 8,500 pounds.

Performance

2024 Toyota Sienna

6/10

2025 INFINITI QX80

6/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna was powered by a hybrid system combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, producing a total of 245 horsepower. All-wheel drive models included an additional electric motor for the rear wheels. Despite the sport-tuned suspension and Sport mode, the Sienna's performance was not particularly thrilling, feeling sluggish off the line with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that contributed to a smooth but slow acceleration. The CVT could become noisy, especially during highway merging or uphill driving. Around town, the Sienna offered a pleasant driving experience with light and accurate steering, although the brakes could be grabby. The Sienna's competitors, such as the Honda Odyssey, Kia Carnival, and Chrysler Pacifica, offered stronger V6 powerplants.

The 2025 INFINITI QX80 featured a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, replacing the previous 5.6-liter V8. The V6 produced 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, a significant increase over the outgoing V8. A nine-speed automatic transmission replaced the old seven-speed, with standard rear-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive. The QX80 felt more energetic than its predecessor, although the active sound enhancement added an artificial noise during acceleration. The suspension system, with air suspension and adaptive damping, provided a compliant ride and could adjust ride height for off-road or aerodynamic purposes. Despite its reinforced frame, the QX80's handling was average for a large body-on-frame SUV, with the air suspension unable to completely smooth out bumps.

Form and function

2025 INFINITI QX80

9/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna offered practical interior features, including a lower storage pass-through, multiple cupholders, and a shelf with a wireless charging pad. The second-row captain's chairs could slide fore and aft, providing up to 40 inches of legroom, although the slide function was complicated, and the seats couldn't be removed, limiting cargo space. The third row was accessible for adults and offered 39 inches of legroom when the second row was pushed forward. The Sienna featured tri-zone climate control, with an additional zone for the front passenger in the XSE trim. The rear liftgate revealed 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 101 cubic feet with the third row stowed.

The 2025 INFINITI QX80's redesign increased cargo space by 6%, 17%, and 28% behind the first, second, and third rows, respectively. The QX80 offered 22 cubic feet with all rows in place, 59 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 101 cubic feet with both the second and third rows folded. The power liftgate and power-folding seats made reconfiguring the interior easy, although the second-row seats sometimes lacked room to move if the driver's seat was set for taller occupants. The QX80 provided ample passenger space, with increased legroom in the first and third rows. Heated, ventilated, and massaging seats were available, along with a maximum towing capacity of 8,500 pounds.

Technology

2024 Toyota Sienna

2025 INFINITI QX80

9/10

The 2024 Toyota Sienna featured an older infotainment system with a nine-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and physical buttons for common menus. The backup camera's grainy view was a drawback, but the Sienna included a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an optional 12-speaker JBL stereo system. USB ports and a 1500-watt inverter with a 120-volt outlet were available, although the outlets required activation via a button near the driver's seat. Optional features included an 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system and a 10-inch color head-up display.

The 2025 INFINITI QX80's redesigned cabin featured dual 14.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen, with a smaller 9-inch touchscreen for climate control. The QX80 was the first Infiniti model with Google built-in apps, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were supported. The infotainment system's graphics were reminiscent of Nissan's non-luxury brand, and the lower touchscreen required firm presses. All QX80 models had Klipsch sound systems, with higher trims offering a 24-speaker version with Individual Audio tech. The QX80 also featured a 360-degree camera system with multiple viewing angles and a digital rearview camera.

Safety

2025 INFINITI QX80

The 2024 Toyota Sienna came standard with the Toyota Safety Sense suite, including lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert were also standard. The Sienna received four out of five stars from the NHTSA for frontal crash and rollover protection and five stars for side crash protection. The IIHS rated the Sienna "Good" in crashworthiness and seat belt and child restraint systems, but "Average" in front crash prevention.

The 2025 INFINITI QX80's crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA were unavailable at the time of publication. Standard safety features included forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and a trailer blind-spot warning system. The QX80 offered Nissan's ProPilot Assist highway-driving assistance system, with adaptive cruise control and automated lane centering. The more advanced ProPilot Assist 2.1 version allowed for hands-free driving and automated lane changes.
