2024 Genesis GV80 Reviews SummaryGenesis introduced the GV80 in 2021, and the crossover SUV is getting a minor refresh in 2025. Still, the 2024 GV80 remains a good choice unless you want to wait for the fancier styling, more high-tech interior, or new supercharged GV80 Coupe coming next year. Otherwise, today’s GV80 is pretty much the same as tomorrow’s GV80, and in some respects, it is the more elegant and traditional choice. Verdict: Based on our evaluation of the 2024 Genesis GV80, seat comfort is not what it should be. Also, to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you need a USB cable. This Genesis is thirsty, too. But otherwise, we have few complaints about this stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.
2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE Reviews SummarySummary: G-Wagens aside, the now-discontinued M-Class is what cemented Mercedes’ place in the SUV jungle. The descendent of that pioneering model is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, which continues as the automaker’s entry into a midsize luxury SUV segment populated by the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Genesis GV80, and Lexus RX. Mercedes also sells a GLE Coupe that competes with the BMW X6. Changes for 2025 are limited to two new configurations—a GLE 350 SUV base model and GLE 450 4Matic Coupe—and several new paint colors. Verdict: The GLE-Class is a solid luxury SUV for families, but its competition is equally good.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 offered a choice between the 2.5T turbocharged four-cylinder and the 3.5T twin-turbocharged V6 models, with trim levels ranging from Standard to Prestige Signature. Prices varied from $57,700 to $81,750, plus a $1,350 destination charge. The test vehicle, a 3.5T in Prestige Signature trim, featured a Matterhorn White Matte paint job, bringing the MSRP to $84,600. While the exterior was understated, the interior was luxurious, boasting diamond-stitched Nappa leather, a suede headliner, and a wide touchscreen display. Despite its luxury, the Prestige Signature trim was not deemed more attractive than the regular Prestige model.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE, redesigned in 2020 and facelifted for 2024, maintained a unique profile with a rounded design reminiscent of its predecessors. The GLE Coupe models exaggerated the proportions with a bulky lower body and fastback-style roofline. New paint colors and Manufaktur interiors were introduced, offering more personalization. The Yacht Blue interior of the test car was striking, complemented by features like 64-color ambient lighting and a Burmester audio system. Despite its size, the GLE's styling adhered to Mercedes' brand identity, ensuring it was unmistakably a Benz.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 2.5T featured a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, outperforming some rivals' V6 engines. The 3.5T model, tested with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, delivered 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Despite its power, it was fuel-thirsty, achieving 17.2 mpg compared to the EPA's 20 mpg estimate. Both engines paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, offering five driving modes. The GV80 3.5T excelled in performance, with upgraded brakes and adaptive suspension, providing a sporty yet luxurious driving experience.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE offered six powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid and AMG variants. The GLE 350 featured a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the GLE 450 4Matic had a 3.0-liter inline-six producing 375 hp. The GLE 580 4Matic boasted a twin-turbo V8 with 510 hp. AMG models included the GLE 53 with 429 hp and the GLE 63 S with 603 hp. The GLE 63 S impressed with its V8 soundtrack and rapid acceleration, though it felt larger than its size, making maneuverability challenging despite its powerful engines.
In 2024, the Genesis GV80 3.5T Advanced was the only model with a third-row seat, while the Prestige Signature seated four with captain’s chairs. The interior featured premium materials, but seat comfort was lacking on long trips. Cargo space was generous, with 34.9 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 84 cubic feet with seats folded. However, the rear center console in the Prestige Signature limited loading ease.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE offered two-row and three-row configurations, though third-row specs were not published. The GLE provided ample second-row space, surpassing some rivals in legroom. Cargo space was competitive, with 33.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 74.9 cubic feet with seats folded. The GLE excelled in towing capacity, matching the Audi Q7 at 7,700 pounds. The center console offered practical storage, despite housing the infotainment touchpad.
The 2024 Genesis GV80 featured a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, though its placement encouraged use of the center console dial. Standard features included navigation, SiriusXM, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Prestige Signature added wireless charging in the second row. The digital key system and Lexicon sound system enhanced convenience, while the head-up display provided safety alerts.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE showcased dual 12.3-inch screens for instruments and infotainment, with MBUX offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Multiple access methods, including voice recognition, simplified use. AMG models added drive modes and off-road displays, enhancing versatility. The 360-degree camera system and air suspension improved off-road capability, though the interface could be overwhelming.
The 2024 Genesis GV80 came equipped with advanced safety features, including a Blind-Spot View Monitor and Highway Driving Assist. The latter worked well in light traffic but was less effective in heavy traffic. The GV80 earned a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though frontal-impact ratings were slightly lower.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE offered numerous driver-assist features, though some were optional. Standard features included forward collision warning and blind-spot monitoring. The optional Driver Assistance Package added adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. The GLE received a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS, though front-crash prevention ratings varied.
