2023 Genesis GV70 Reviews Summary

The definition of luxury has changed. No matter where you look in the various premium vehicle segments, there are entrants that you may not have seen decades ago. From performance SUVs to subcompact crossovers, there are new takes on upscale vehicles. But just as crucially is the entrance of new players. In 2015, the Genesis brand was officially spun off from Hyundai. And with the brand’s expansion into various segments, a compact like the 2023 Genesis GV70 was a must.

The GV70 was introduced for the 2022 model year and for 2023, an all-electric model joins the lineup. We evaluated the GV70 on the whole, but with a special focus on how effective the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified is as an EV and as a compact luxury crossover.

2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Reviews Summary

If you have more than a couple of kids, chances are good that a regular Toyota Highlander won’t be big enough for all your needs. For many shoppers like you, the Kia Telluride and its corporate cousin, the Hyundai Palisade, have become the obvious choices. Those three-row crossovers are newer, bigger, and incredibly nice to drive.

But now there’s a new Highlander. A bigger Highlander. A Grand Highlander. This all-new model takes a popular nameplate (which, don't worry, isn’t going anywhere) and adds a little extra space. But what separates the Grand Highlander from the field is the availability of not one, but two different hybrid powertrains. This all-new model offers plenty of space, good fuel efficiency, and Toyota’s sterling reputation for reliability. So, is the 2024 Grand Highlander an immediate threat to the hot-selling Kia Telluride?

2024 Toyota Grand Highlander

The 2023 Genesis GV70 was a stylish SUV that drew inspiration from its sedan counterpart, the G70. Its design featured split-bar headlights and a strong chrome line that visually connected it to the sedan, giving it a coupe-like appearance without sacrificing versatility. Inside, the GV70's cabin was a testament to luxury, with top-notch materials and a design that was both contemporary and classic. The dashboard featured a full touchscreen, backed by a rotary dial and button controls, offering a user-friendly experience. The GV70 was available in both gas-powered and electrified versions, with various trims offering a range of luxury features, from genuine leather upholstery to advanced driver-assistance systems.

In contrast, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was a larger, more rugged-looking SUV, built on the TNGA-K platform. It shared its underpinnings with the regular Highlander and other Toyota models, offering a spacious interior that was larger than many of its competitors. The Grand Highlander's design was more conservative, with a blockier appearance reminiscent of the Ford Explorer and Kia Telluride. Inside, it offered a choice of Softex synthetic leather or real leather upholstery, depending on the trim level. The Grand Highlander was designed for comfort and practicality, with features like a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, and a large center console. It excelled as a road-trip vehicle, with a reputation for mechanical reliability and a well-built interior.
