Volkswagen certified pre-owned vehicles (CPO) must pass a rigorous qualification process. In order to be certified, the vehicle must:
- Pass a 100+ point inspection that includes a mechanical examination, road test, and cosmetic appearance check
- Have all scheduled and recommended maintenance work performed using only genuine Volkswagen parts
- Have any open recalls addressed
- Be free of major collision or repair work and have a clean Carfax vehicle history report
Warranty
Volkswagen CPO vehicles come with the following warranty coverage:
- Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty: 2 years or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first)
- High-Voltage Battery Limited Warranty (for eligible electric vehicles): 8 years or 100,000 miles (whichever occurs first)
Coverage begins when the vehicle's original factory warranty expires or when the CPO vehicle is sold, whichever occurs later. Volkswagen requires a $50 deductible per covered repair under its warranties.
