The Toyota Tundra Hybrid was all-new for the 2022 model year, and it hasn’t received a mid-cycle refresh yet. While general competitors in the full-size truck segment include the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, and Ram 1500, the only other hybrid full-size truck currently available is the F-150 PowerBoost. The 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid is available in five trims: Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

What’s New for the 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid
Currently in its third generation, the 2026 Tundra Hybrid has no major design updates, but it's not what could be called a carryover. Changes for this model year include a standard 32.2-gallon fuel tank, a new Wave Maker paint color for the TRD Pro, and an updated Capstone interior. Buyers can expect new options, including the ISO Dynamic Seats on the TRD Pro and the TRD 3-inch Lift Kit and Tow Tech Package on the TRD Rally Package.
Design
The Toyota Tundra Hybrid has a bold stance with blocky fender flares and a controversially styled grille. The hybrid model is available only as a crew cab, with 5.5- and 6.5-foot bed lengths, depending on trim. A Nightshade Package is available on the Limited trim, but otherwise, there aren’t any appearance packages, as each trim has its own unique character. Standard wheels on the Limited are 20-inch alloys, but 20- and 22-inch wheels are available on other trims. All-season tires are standard on most trims, with all-terrain tires being standard on off-road models and available with the TRD Off-Road Package.
Powertrain
With the 2022 redesign, the Tundra dropped the V-8 engine and replaced it with the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, which consists of a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 paired with Toyota’s one-motor parallel hybrid system. The only transmission available is a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available. The RWD models get an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the 4WD models get 19 and 22 mpg, respectively. Max towing is 11,450 pounds, depending on trim and configuration. The TRD Pro is the primary off-road model with a running ground clearance of 10.9 inches. But a TRD Off-Road Package is available on the Platinum and 1794 models that adds all-terrain tires, TRD badging, skid plates, and Multi-Terrain Select. A 3-inch lift kit is also available.

Interior
Upholstered in leather as standard, the 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid seats only five passengers because it loses the non-hybrid Tundra's available bench seat. The TRD Pro comes with red or black leatherette seats, and the top-tier Capstone model has semi-aniline leather seats. A panoramic moonroof with power tilt/slide is available on the Limited trim and standard on all other trims. Because the hybrid battery pack is located under the rear seats, the Tundra Hybrid doesn’t have under-seat storage like its gasoline counterpart, so in-vehicle cargo stowage is relatively limited.
Technology
Standard technology features on the 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid include a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 14-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has standard LED headlights and taillights, LED fog lights, a power tailgate, driver’s seat memory, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate controls, and a nine-speaker audio system. Available features include a 120-volt/400W bed-mounted AC power outlet, a rear camera mirror, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, a rear-seat power outlet, massaging front seats, and a 12-speaker JBL premium audio system.
