The Honda Odyssey was all-new in 2018, making it the second-oldest minivan in the segment. It offers a single powertrain and many family-friendly features, but lacks a hybrid option. While this segment is shrinking, there is a small but mighty group of vehicles in the competitive set, including the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Carnival, and the Toyota Sienna. The 2026 Honda Odyssey has four trims: EX-L, Sport L, Touring, and Elite.

What’s New for the 2026 Honda Odyssey
The Honda Odyssey got a significant refresh for 2025, which included a dashboard overhaul with a new standard 9-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch digital instrument display, the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an upgraded rear-seat entertainment system, faster USB-C charge ports in all three rows, a sporty new grille, fresh wheel designs, and revised front and rear fascias. Therefore, the 2026 Odyssey is essentially a carryover.
Design
While the Odyssey received some design upgrades for the 2025 model year, it retains the same basic exterior styling that debuted for 2018. Standard wheels on the base EX-L trim are 18 inches, but 19-inch wheels are standard starting at the Sport L. There are no appearance packages, but there is a Utility Package that adds crossbars and roof rails, while the Utility+ Package includes a trailer hitch.
Powertrain
While other minivans offer multiple powertrains and drivetrains, the 2026 Honda Odyssey is front-wheel-drive (FWD) only and has a single gas powertrain—a 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The Odyssey's maximum towing capacity is 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Interior
The 2026 Honda Odyssey is well-equipped for an active family with standard leather-trimmed seats, Honda's Magic Slide second-row seats, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate controls, second-row sunshades, and a one-touch power moonroof. Higher trim levels include features such as heated and ventilated front seats, third-row sunshades, and a heated steering wheel. The Odyssey comes standard with eight-passenger seating, but offers a lot of flexibility. While there are no traditional captain’s chairs, the Odyssey does have a removable middle seat that, in effect, creates captain’s chairs and allows for the Magic Slide, bringing the outboard seat to the center. Honda's minivan also has better-than-average cargo space, with 32.8 cubic feet behind the third row and 140.7 cubic feet behind the first.
Technology
The Odyssey's 2025 refresh included a significant and sorely needed tech upgrade. It now comes standard with a 9-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch digital display next to an analog speedometer, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more USB-C charge ports. Other standard tech features include a wireless phone charger, a power liftgate, LED headlights, and a seven-speaker audio system. Available features include power front seats with a driver’s memory setting, a rear-seat entertainment system, CabinWatch cameras to monitor the rear seats, CabinTalk microphones that amplify your voice throughout the cabin, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and an 11-speaker audio system.
