Supercars used to be limited to wild-looking vehicles in crazy colors, but some automakers have adapted that level of performance to the world of four-door cars. The Mercedes-AMG GT is one such super sedan, offering a range of powerful engines, an ultra-premium interior, and surprisingly athletic handling.

What’s New for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
The GT gained two notable improvements for the 2025 model year. The first is a new three-door model, which cuts the back doors for a much sportier look. The other is an interior and exterior styling update with new materials, color options, and wheel choices.
Design
The GT is a two- or four-door car, but it’s still a large car, even lacking two doors. It features a large grille and a unique shape that moves upward toward the rear. Mercedes fits a large wing and slim taillights, and the car’s overall styling is clean, without shouty badges and logos.
Powertrain
Mercedes offers a staggering number of powertrain configurations for the 2025 GT. The base model has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, making 362 horsepower and 392 pound-feet of torque. The midrange four-door GT 63 offers a twin-turbo V8 with 577 horsepower, and the range-topping GT S E Performance uses the same engine with an electric motor that make a combined 805 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque. All engines pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or all-wheel drive.

Interior
The GT’s back seat is tiny and restrictive, even in four-door configurations. Synthetic leather and suede upholstery comes standard, but more expensive trims offer Nappa leather, carbon fiber accents, heated and ventilated front seats, massaging front seats, and more. The front buckets are spacious and nicely padded, offering good outward visibility and easy reach of all controls and interior displays. Cargo space is generous, at up to 23.8 cubic feet with the back seats folded flat.
Technology
Mercedes equips a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, which shrinks to 11.9 inches in two-door variants. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB-C ports, wireless charging, a Burmester stereo, and voice commands come standard. While the MBUX infotainment system offers one of the longest list of features in the business, it’s also one of the more complex interfaces, requiring a longer adjustment period than most.
