2023 Nissan Murano Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Overview
The Nissan Murano is in its third generation for the 2023 model year. This comfortable, well-equipped SUV provides two spacious rows.
The 2023 Nissan Murano is a comfortable, feature-laden midsize SUV. While other midsize SUVs focus on maxing out seating capacity and cargo space, the Murano provides spacious seating for two rows of passengers.
What’s New for the 2023 Nissan Murano
The third-generation Murano was introduced for the 2015 model year. It received styling updates and incremental updates in subsequent years. It carries over into the 2023 model year largely unchanged.
Design
The Murano was one of the earliest vehicles to incorporate the floating, blacked-out D-pillar that exaggerates the size of the minuscule side porthole windows behind the rear seats. The 2023 Murano comes fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels. The SL and Platinum trims each come with their own unique 20-inch alloy wheel designs.
Powertrain
There is one engine offered on the Nissan Murano: a stout 3.5-liter V6. It makes 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels or to available all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD) through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This setup has a low tow rating of just 1,500 pounds. Both the FWD and the AWD versions of the Murano return fuel economy of 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined.
Interior
Trims for the Murano are S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The S trim comes equipped with a push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and four USB ports. Moving up to the SV trim adds fog lights, power-adjustable and heated front seats, and synthetic leather upholstery. The SL trim boasts genuine leather upholstery, as well as heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. The range-topping Platinum includes heated and ventilated front seats, upgraded semi-aniline leather upholstery, and a dual-panel moonroof.
The Murano has just 67 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, that figure drops to 32.1 cubic feet of cargo space. The latest smaller compact SUVs beat out these figures. If you select the SL or Platinum trims, this space can be accessed via a hands-free power lift gate.
Technology
Nissan outfits the 2023 Murano with an 8-inch touchscreen on every trim. It’s a bit of a dated design, but it’s incredibly easy to use and includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SL and Platinum trims come equipped with an 11-speaker Bose premium stereo.
Safety
The 2023 Murano comes standard with a number of advanced driver-assistance features. These include forward (and reverse) automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SV trim also adds adaptive cruise control and front parking sensors. The SL trim adds traffic-sign recognition and a 360-degree parking camera system.
Pricing
As of this writing, the 2023 Nissan Murano has a starting MSRP of $33,660 for the base S trim. Adding AWD brings the price of an S trim to $35,360. The SV trim starts at $37,200, and the SL trim starts at $41,160. The Platinum trim starts at $45,210, and a range-topping AWD Platinum starts at $46,190. The Nissan Murano is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

What owners say
It has great features I personally don't like the screen on top of the dash. I prefer the 2020 model with the screen in the dash not on it. Other than that no complaints about the features.
June 17, 2025Superrior vehicle. I made the buy decision via an SV trim I rented from Enterprise, based on the safety features and ride I purchased a 23 Platinum trim and it is technology super, plus augmented the SV safety features. Excellent option and its one of the few V6s in the midsized SUV category
January 1, 2024Lots of great features and very trouble free in the 10 years that Ive owned mine. Great in the snow with snow tires and an all around good , solid vehicle.
