2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Overview
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available in three body styles for the 2023 model year, one of which was recently redesigned.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a rakish compact luxury car offered in sedan, coupe, and convertible (“Cabriolet”) body styles. The sedan was redesigned in 2022 and carries over to 2023 with minimal changes, while the coupe and Cabriolet variants soldier on in the previous-generation body styles. The sedan provides 12.6 cubic feet of trunk space. The coupe provides 10.5 cubic feet, and the Cabriolet has just 8.8 cubic feet (with the top up).
The C-Class Cabriolet’s convertible top can open or close in 20 seconds even while the car is in motion, at speeds up to 31 mph. Buyers have multiple convertible top color options, including black, navy blue, and burgundy. The Cabriolet also includes Mercedes-Benz’s Airscarf neck-level heating system for top-down driving well into colder months.
Standard features on the C-Class sedan include 18-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED ambient cabin lighting, a power sunroof, and heated, power-adjustable front seats. The C-Class also comes with a fully digital instrument panel and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Note that the coupe and Cabriolet run an older version of the infotainment system that requires using a controller in the center console to operate the system.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz C 300 is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine which makes 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The AMG C 43 upgrades the power unit to a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 which puts out 385 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent through a nine-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available 4Matic all-wheel drive (AWD); 4Matic comes standard on the AMG models. The Mercedes-AMG C 43 adds performance brakes, an AMG sport exhaust, a wider track, and AMG sport air suspension with three damping levels. The AMG C 43 Coupe can sprint from zero to sixty mph in 4.6 seconds.
The most efficient version of the C-Class is the C 300 rear-wheel drive (RWD) sedan: It returns fuel economy of 25 mpg city, 36 highway, and 27 combined. Adding 4Matic AWD brings fuel economy to 24 mpg city, 33 highway, and 27 combined. The least-efficient variant is the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe, which returns 18 mpg city, 27 highway, and 21 combined. The C-Class requires premium fuel.
Standard driver-assistance features on the 2023 C-Class include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, driver-drowsiness monitor, and blind-spot monitoring. Available safety tech includes traffic-sign recognition, reverse automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, a 360-degree parking monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and a head-up display.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is $43,550 for the C 300 sedan. Adding 4Matic AWD brings the price to $45,550. The C 300 Coupe starts at $47,850, and the Cabriolet starts at $55,400. The Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe starts at $60,500, and the C 43 Cabriolet starts at $67,000. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
