The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is an efficient and versatile compact SUV that combines easy-to-use technology with a long list of standard safety features and creature comforts. The Tucson Hybrid was an all-new model for the 2022 model year, and it carries over into the 2023 model year with minimal changes. The Tucson Hybrid provides 74.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded, and with the rear seats in use, it still provides a helpful 38.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
Trims for the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid are Blue, SEL Convenience, and Limited. The entry-level Blue trim provides dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, push-button start, cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and four USB ports. It also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the SEL Convenience trim adds wireless device charging, a hands-free smart power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof.
The range-topping Limited trim includes features such as heated-and-ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. By going up to the larger screen, you lose wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but you can still access these helpful features via a USB cable.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. Its powertrain works with a lithium-ion battery and an electric motor to put out a combined 226 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a six-speed automatic transmission to standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
The most efficient version of the Tucson Hybrid is the Blue trim; its powertrain returns fuel economy of 38 mpg city, 38 highway, and 38 combined. The SEL Convenience and Limited trims return 37 mpg city, 36 highway, and 37 combined.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid comes standard with a generous list of safety and driver-assistance features, including forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver-attention warning, rear occupant alert, and Hyundai’s useful safe-exit assist feature. Optional driver-assistance features include parking collision avoidance and remote smart parking assist. The Limited trim also comes with a blind-spot view monitor: When the driver activates a turn signal, the left- or right-side digital gauge cluster will temporarily display a video feed of vehicle’s left or right.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is $30,900 for the Blue trim. The SEL Convenience Package model starts at $33,860, and the range-topping Limited trim starts at $38,660. The Tucson Hybrid comes with Hyundai’s generous 10-year/100,000-mile warranty covering the powertrain and the hybrid components.
