When work needs to get done, the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD is a great tool for the job. The full-sized heavy-duty pickup is offered in a wide variety of configurations to handle any task. Buyers can select Regular Cab, extended Double Cab, or full Crew Cab configurations, with standard bed and long bed options. Every Sierra 2500HD comes with integrated bed steps in the corners of the rear bumper and forward of the rear wheels.

Trims for the Sierra 2500HD are Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. Standard equipment on the Pro trim includes 17-inch steel wheels, a six-speaker stereo, a backup camera with integrated hitch guidance, two USB ports, vinyl upholstery, rubberized floor coverings, power locks and windows, and a 3.5-inch driver information center in the instrument panel.

Buyers can select either a 6.6-liter gas V8 or a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8. The gas V8 makes 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The diesel V8 puts out 445 horsepower and an impressive 910 pound-feet of torque. The gas engine routes power through a six-speed automatic transmission and the diesel engine routes power through a 10-speed automatic. Both powertrains can be selected with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or available four-wheel drive (4WD).

When properly equipped, the diesel-powered Sierra 2500HD can tow up to 18,500 pounds. The gas-powered 2500HD has a gooseneck-towing capacity of 16,650 pounds and a conventional tow rating of 14,500 pounds.
