Overview

The popular Chrysler Pacifica minivan gets a new trim and a new special edition for the 2023 model year.

The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica is a three-row minivan with seating for up to eight passengers. It also has in-car tech, safety features, and clever innovations designed with families in mind.

What’s New for the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica

For 2023, Chrysler adds a Touring L trim and a Road Tripper special edition to the Pacifica lineup. The latter features special equipment optimized for…well, road trips.

Design

Trims for the 2023 Pacifica are Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. The Touring trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, and moving up to the Touring L adds 18-inch alloy wheels. The range-topping Pinnacle features 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Road Tripper is an options package for the Touring L. It features the trailer tow prep package, durable all-weather floor mats, unique exterior styling elements, and roof racks. Those roof racks are compatible with a range of Mopar products, including bike racks, cargo carriers, and more.

Powertrain

No matter which trim you select, the Pacifica is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It makes 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels or to available all-wheel drive (AWD). (AWD is not offered on base Touring trim.) There’s also a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain available; PHEV-equipped Pacificas are covered as a separate model. With the Trailer Tow Prep Package (standard on the Road Tripper), the Pacifica can tow up to 3,600 pounds.

The front-wheel-drive (FWD) Pacifica returns fuel economy of 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined. The AWD version returns 17 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined.

Interior

With the optional second-row middle seat, the Pacifica has seating for up to eight passengers. But in normal configuration, with two individual second-row seats, the minivan seats seven. The Pacifica features Chrysler’s clever Stow ’N' Go seating system, which allows the second- and third-row seats to fold seamlessly into the floor, providing up to 140.5 cubic feet of cargo space. With the second row in use, the Pacifica has 87.5 cubic feet, and with all seats deployed, it has 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row.

Standard features on the Touring trim include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a power liftgate, power sliding side doors, tri-zone automatic climate control, and push-button start. The Touring L trim adds synthetic leather upholstery, illuminated cupholders, and third-row sunshades.

The Limited boasts ventilated front seats, wireless device charging, genuine leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, and a power-folding third row. It also includes a hands-free power lift gate and an integrated vacuum.

The range-topping Pinnacle trim adds the rear-seat entertainment system and a monitor of the rear seats for the driver and front passenger.

Technology

The 2023 Pacifica comes with four USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and a vivid 10.1-inch touchscreen. It runs the intuitive Uconnect infotainment system and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Available tech features include a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, a 13-speaker Alpine stereo system, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica has a base MSRP of $37,270 for the Touring trim. The Touring L starts at $41,425, and the Limited starts at $48,700. The range-topping Pinnacle starts at $54,280. The Road Tripper package is offered on the Touring L trim at $2,395 for FWD or $2,095 with AWD. The Chrysler Pacifica is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

The Pacifica drives amazing. It’s a smooth ride and is quite inside while driving. I like the button dial for changing the gears. I’m not crazy about the stop/start feature but that’s a personal choice for me. It’s going to take me a while to get confident with parking as it is a large vehicle to me as I’ve driven a Toyota Corolla for years. I’m loving all the room in the rear when the middle and back seats are folded down. It fits our needs as we need the space to transport my hubby’s wheel chair and walker. He loves the Pacifica and it’s not too hard for him to get into.

The Chrysler Pacifica is one of the best riding, affordable and most attractive vehicle on the market. The Kia carnival is well a Kia and the odyssey is ugly and the ford, oh wait they can’t even compete. Enough said.
