2023 Chevrolet Traverse Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Overview
The Chevrolet Traverse got a substantial styling update for 2022, so Chevrolet has made only minimal changes for 2023.
The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse is a three-row SUV with plenty of space for passengers and gear. It delivers up to 98.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the second row in use, it still offers 57.8 cubic feet of cargo space and with all seats in use, it has 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The Traverse has seating for up to eight with a second-row bench or seating for seven with available second-row captain’s chairs. The latest Traverse is just one year removed from a 2022 styling update, and it carries over into 2023 with minimal changes.
Trims for the 2023 Chevy Traverse are LS, LT, RS, Premier, and High Country. Standard features on the LS trim include 18-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, three-zone climate control, six USB ports, remote keyless entry, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It also comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Moving up to the LT adds wireless device charging, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and second-row captain’s chairs. There is an LT Leather trim that adds (as you might imagine) leather upholstery. This sub-trim also adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
The RS trim boasts unique styling elements, as well as a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo and a wall-style power outlet.
The Premier trim gains a hands-free power liftgate, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The range-topping High Country trim includes power-folding third-row seats, a power sunroof, and trailer-hitch guidance integrated into the backup camera.
No matter which trim you select, the Traverse comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It makes 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent through a nine-speed automatic to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD).
The front-wheel-drive (FWD) version of the Traverse returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 27 highway, and 21 combined. The AWD version returns fuel economy of 17 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined.
Standard driver-assistance features on the Traverse include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and GM’s Teen Driver feature, which allows the owner to set speed and volume limits for a second set of keys. The LT trim adds rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The RS trim adds reverse pedestrian detection, as well as a 360-degree parking monitor.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse is $35,195 for the LS trim. The LT trim starts at $38,440. The RS starts at $46,440, the Premier starts at $48,595, and the range-topping High Country starts at $53,395. The Chevrolet Traverse is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse are very pleased with its spacious interior, comfort, and pleasant driving experience. Many appreciate the ample room for families and the number of features available. However, some reviewers noted that the technology features could be limited compared to other options in its class."
The Traverse is a large mid-size SUV, and I love it. It rides and drives like a dream. The High Country trim gives all you would desire and more. I highly recommend this vehicle.
December 12, 2025I love my new 2023 Traverse! The Premier came with all the bells and whistles. I was looking for an SUV that was roomy but still got decent gas mileage. The captain’s chairs were a must along with the 3rd row, which has plenty of leg room for an average sized person, not just small children.
December 31, 2023This is my 4th Traverse and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend! It has plenty of head room and very comfortable.

July 9, 2023We love our new 2023 Traverse! It has great features, drives really smooth, and has lots of room for our 3 kids and all their stuff. We had a van prior and it has similar amount of interior space, which is amazing!
November 16, 2022Very spacious and at a great unbeatable price! The interior is very beautiful and it has individual heater/air conditioner holes for each individual passenger. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an upgrade!
April 17, 2023It’s a good size and drives really nice. And it’s nice and roomy inside.
November 26, 2022The traverse premiere we purchase has the captain seats we really like and it also has a pretty large compartment in the back. Vehicle has plenty of room for our family of 5. Seats are comfortable
January 7, 2024It had all the features I was looking for and still under warranty
May 24, 2023Good size for family car. Spacious leg rooms and it gives the comfort that you need. Best value for an SUV though it has limited features in terms of technology.
