The heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is slated for a 2024 redesign. The 2023 model is available with a variety of configurations, powertrains, and options.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a highly capable full-size truck that’s ready for what the worksite can throw at it. More than that, the Silverado 2500HD has the cabin space and creature comforts to make it a heavy-duty truck that’s also ready for the daily grind. The Silverado 2500HD is available in single cab, double cab (extended cab), and crew cab variants, as well as in standard bed and long bed configurations. The Silverado HD is slated to be redesigned for the 2024 model year. As such, changes for the 2023 model are minimal.

Trims for the 2023 Silverado 2500HD are WT (Work Truck), Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. Standard equipment on the WT includes helpful integrated steps in the corners of the rear bumper and ahead of the rear wheels. It also comes with an automatic locking differential, a seven-pin tow-hitch connector, two USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Custom trim features 20-inch alloy wheels, body-color exterior accents, black side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and LED signature tail lamps. The LT trim features chrome bumpers, an EZ lift-and-lower tailgate, and an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen with an available Wi-Fi hotspot.

The LTZ trim features dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, remote keyless entry, remote start, an AutoTrac transfer case, and a 120-volt wall-style power outlet.

The range-topping High Country trim includes 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, chrome-accented side steps, front and rear parking sensors, a power open/close tailgate, a Bose premium stereo system, and a spray-on bed liner.

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is available with either a gas V8 or a turbodiesel V8, both of which are 6.6 liters in displacement. The gas V8 makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the Duramax diesel V8 puts out 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. The gas engine routes power through a six-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel routes power through a 10-speed Allison transmission. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard and four-wheel drive (4WD) is optional.

When properly equipped, the Silverado 2500HD can tow up to 18,510 pounds. It also has helpful features for towing, such as a head-up display that presents critical information, a connected app, and eight cameras that present 15 different towing views.

The Silverado HD is available with a handful of modern driver-assistance features, including forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Base MSRP for the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is $43,395 for a single-cab, long-bed WT trim with RWD and the gas engine. A crew-cab, long-bed High Country with the Duramax diesel engine and 4WD starts at $81,345. The Silverado 2500HD is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
