2022 Lincoln Aviator Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Overview
Lincoln's six- or seven-seater gets minor updates to standard and optional equipment for the 2022 model year.
The 2022 Lincoln Aviator is a refined, powerful, and versatile midsize luxury SUV. It provides three rows of seating with capacity for seven. With the optional second-row captain's chairs, capacity falls to six. With all rear seats folded, the Aviator provides 77.7 cubic feet of cargo space, which is good for the class. With the second-row seats in use, the Aviator provides 41.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. With all seats in use, the Aviator provides 18.3 cubic feet of space being the third row. The Aviator is largely unchanged from the 2021 model year.
Trims for the 2022 Aviator are Standard, Reserve, Grand Touring, and Black Label. The Standard trim comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 10-speaker stereo system. The Aviator also comes equipped with an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto.
Moving up to the Reserve trim adds 20-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, quad-zone climate control, wireless device charging, and navigation.
The Grand Touring trim adds 21-inch wheels and a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This powertrain is also found in the Black Label, which also adds 22-inch wheels and power soft-closing doors.
No matter what trim you select, the Aviator is powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It makes 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent through a 10-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD). The Grand Touring and Black Label trim come equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that provides a combined 494 horsepower and can travel up to 21 miles on battery power alone.
The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Aviator returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined. The AWD version returns 17 mpg city, 24 highway, and 20 combined. The plug-in hybrid powertrain provides 56 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent). When the electric power is depleted, the hybrid powertrain returns 23 mpg combined.
The Lincoln Aviator comes with an extensive list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. There are some additional safety features that are either optional or come equipped on higher-level trims, such as adaptive headlights, a 360-degree parking monitor, lane-centering adaptive cruise control, road-sign recognition, and hands-free park assist.
Base MSRP for the 2022 Lincoln Aviator is $51,465 for the Standard trim. The Reserve starts at $57,355, and the Grand Touring starts at $68,360. The range-topping Black Label trim starts at $79,350. The Aviator is backed by a six-year/70,000-mile warranty.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2022 Lincoln Aviator appreciate its luxury, technology features, and spaciousness, especially for families. Many praised the comfort and high-quality feel of the interior, but some were disappointed with the rising price and the absence of standard features like fog lights. While some feel that it's not as smooth as competitive models, the Aviator still stands out for its unique style and features."
It is a nice mid-size SUV. I like the technology features it offers for the driver and the space it offers for my car seats in the second row and the ease of moving the second row seats with my car seats. Its size is very similar to the Infiniti QX60 and a little bigger than my Volvo XC90 and thats why I am trying to get the Aviator. I dont like the fact that its price has gone up but all the vehicle prices have. Its a smooth ride, I think that the Infiniti is a little smoother but it has more features than the QX60.
December 16, 2021Being a luxury vehicle I wish it came standard with fog lights and rear heated seats. Otherwise it is a beautiful vehicle.
February 1, 2022Very nice car. Loaded with options in the 201A package group. 30-way seats are comfortable with massage feature. Revel Sound System is exceptionally clear. Car handles well on the road and through curves. Leather appointments look extremely high-end.

September 19, 2022“Got the Luxury package with Elements package, tow package and Lighting package. Love the car. Has everything you could need, and rides great. Gas mileage so far is around 22 mpg. Bought it to replace a 2019 Lexus RX 350L.
September 12, 2022compare to Mercedes, very stiff, not soft seats. Beautiful car inside and out
August 15, 2022All the features you need for comfortable, safe driving. Wish I could have afforded the Black label, primarily for the seats. Style is the most unique of all SUVs. Range Rover may come close to the Aviator.
August 6, 2022Great features. It does need to be more affordable and available so everyone can see Lincoln Aviator s are great cars!
