Expert review
The WRX blends sensible tech and safety features into an ideal daily driver performance car.
For many, Subaru is synonymous with camping, skiing, and dog lovers. This active, outdoorsy reputation is one that Subaru has carefully cultivated through the years. But there is another side to the brand and one that is just as critical to its success. Its performance and motorsports efforts helped develop the symmetrical all-wheel-drive system found in nearly every modern Subaru. The 2020 Subaru WRX is the road-going manifestation of decades in world rally racing.
The WRX is a home-grown celebration of all the technologies that underpin the lineup of reliable, efficient Subaru wagons, sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs. But in the WRX these chassis and powertrain innovations are distilled to their hard-driving extremes. Can a four-door, four-cylinder car be a halo car for a brand? When that brand is Subaru, the answer is “yes.”

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2020 Subaru WRX are enthusiastic about its performance and driving experience. Many appreciate the turbo power, handling, and comfort, especially as a daily driver. However, some find the interior quality lacking and have issues with tire noise at higher speeds. There's also a desire for a hatchback variant."
Ive only had it a couple days but man the cvt is great! The handling is beautiful, you feel stuck on the rode and even during a massive downpour you feel very much in control.
December 1, 2021Pretty cool ride for a car that holds its valuable so well. You can really feel the turbo pull when you pass 2-3k rpm. Car has enough power for fun, but can still be smooth enough for a DD. Clutch was relatively light. The interior is pretty cheap (plasticy and terrible sound system), but this is a car to drive for when you want a little bit of umph. Wish they still had a hatchback version - Id have no second thoughts of my next car if that were the case.
September 29, 2020Perfect enthusiast family daily driver. If it had a hatch it’d be 100%. I drive for DoorDash and it makes work something I look forward to. Ride comfort is perfect. I even get 30 mpg on highway easy. Only complaint is tire noise above 50 mph. But the sound system bumps hard enough to cover it up. For me this car checks all boxes, I wanted to get the last version of an older model before they dump even more unnecessary technology into it. My last car was the FR-S and while that car was super fun, this one offers similar thrills, more torque, and a lot more utility. Wish the levorg was available state side. Hatch would make it the best car ever.

May 10, 2021Loved driving it. It would be nice if the linkage was a little tighter. It is very comfortable and visually appealing.
December 29, 2020Awd, manual, just under 300hp with a warranty. I commute in the winter but didn’t want a total dad car.
