The Kia Soul's compact, boxy styling combines the utility of a small SUV with the efficiency and driving refinement of a compact car.
Buying a car blends pragmatic and emotional factors. You know you need a car to do certain things, but you also have preferences about how your car looks and perhaps how its brand's image is generally perceived. You used to have to make sacrifices if you wanted something affordable and economical. Look at small, affordable cars of the past; it's a depressing set of subpar cars.
Automakers have ensured that, with a few exceptions, there are no more truly bad cars, and that extends to the economy-car segment. But even in this competent segment of vehicles, one car stands out from the rest with refined driving dynamics, a lower starting price than most of its competitors, and form and function delivered in equal quantities.
Meet the 2020 Kia Soul. You've probably seen the hamster ads, and you’ve definitely seen this boxy little hatchback on the road. Its particular combination of boxy design and compact size makes it something of a rarity. On the one hand, it competes with small hatchbacks like the Honda Fit and Volkswagen Golf. And on the other hand, you could legitimately cross-shop it against subcompact SUVs like the Subaru Crosstrek and Jeep Renegade.
To top it all off, its latest redesign makes the Soul look more futuristic than anything you’ll find from Tesla; it's truly one of a kind. Take a closer look at the 2020 Kia Soul, because few cars do form and function any better.

What owners say
"Overall, owners appreciate the fun driving experience and the spacious interior of the 2020 Kia Soul. Many love the car's stylish design and modern features, making it a great value for the price. However, some drivers wish for better power from the engine and noted a few comfort issues, like the driver's seat not tilting. Despite these minor complaints, the Soul is favored for its gas mileage and safety features."
It has most of the features that I want in a car. Just missing the push start button.
February 6, 2024The car handles great (a lot better than expected) and the gas millage is very good. The pick up with the CVT transmission is very good (again better than expected). The only complaint i have is that the drivers seat bottom doesnt tilt. It gets a little uncomfortable after an hour of sitting. The gas millage is 34.5 mpg average according to the computer, Ill verify that at the time of filling up. If the computer is accurate, the millage is very good considering my trip to work is very hilly.
December 24, 2020This is the perfect car for us to pull behind our motorhome. Plus it’s extremely cute and fun to drive. Surprisingly it does not feel cramped. So far we love it.

November 22, 2020Excellent car good gas mileage and fun to drive
November 7, 2023The features are a bit intimidating at first, but I got used to all the bells and whistles and had it all set up for me within a couple of hours. I am brand and model loyal, this is my 3rd Soul
February 16, 2022I love the features and handling of the car. Great value for the money.
December 8, 2021I purchased a 2020 Kia Soul X-Line. This is my 3rd one. The Soul is a great car for the price. Plenty of room and good gas mileage with lots of interior features. I like the styling of the X-Line model.
September 6, 2020This car has all the features that most modern cars have and they work perfect. I especially love the large screen and its ease of use. I believe these cars are an excellent value for those looking for modern technology but at an affordable price. I wish the base engine had a little more power, its adequate but no more than that. This car is kind of a niche, all of its competitors (nissan cube and scion xb) are discontinued. I love that its in a space of its own.
January 7, 2021Replaced an excellent 2010 Kia Soul (manual gearbox) The newer unit is also a great car, automatic transmission makes a huge difference in heavier traffic.
February 19, 2024The Kia Soul drives like magic on the open road! It had the lane departure feature which makes me more secure when changing lanes. It has a feature that took getting used to in traffic.,which had to do with slowing the fuel as the engine idles at a traffic light. There were many safety features like keyless entry and others. Of course who would not love the seat warmers. I loved that warm feature. The only thing missing was automatic lift gate, Everythig else was wonderful especially the way it takes the curves on the highway
