Despite its poor road manners, Jeep sells more Wrangler Unlimiteds every year. What's the secret to this model's success?
The Jeep Wrangler is an American icon, embodying the best combination of attributes you can buy in a vehicle today. It’s got a convertible top for the summer and 4-wheel drive for the winter and going off-road year round. It has some of the most unique styling and consistently rugged standard equipment available in any new car today.
Before 2007, starting a family meant some tough decisions for Jeep Wrangler owners. Put a baby seat in the hard-to reach back seat of a 2-door Wrangler, or find another vehicle with better access? But then the 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited arrived (a 2-door Unlimited with an extended wheelbase was sold from 2004-'06), and it only stoked the flames of the red-hot sales success that is the Wrangler.
But a new Wrangler Unlimited is just around the corner. What is it that makes this vehicle so popular, and what elements need to be retained to ensure the Wrangler Unlimited continues to be popular in the future? Read on to find out.

What owners say
"Owners of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler generally love its fun driving experience, comfortable interior, and impressive power, especially with the manual transmission. They appreciate the vehicle's simplicity and lower repair costs, but many find it noisy and bumpy on the road. The gas mileage is a common drawback, and some wished for additional features like a rearview camera."
Jeep looks great for it's age. Paint almost perfect Interior in excellent condition. Rides great. Feels like a new vehicle
September 14, 2025The car states it has several benefits such as heated seats, rear camera, led lights, and a wench, however, none of these things work on the vehicle. This could be because if after market add ons, but as of no hardly anything works correctly. We will have to put a lot of money into it to get it working, therefore the price was not a good value.
July 7, 2025Great Jeep Wrangler Sport unlimited fully loaded , reliable , leather seats , removable hard top , lifted , big size tires , Raptor liner paint, amazing value .

April 23, 2024So much fun to drive. More power and responsiveness than expected. Automatic start is awesome. Only wish it was equipped with a rear back up camera (installingonethisweek).
September 12, 2021The vehicle is a good value for the price. The ride, etc. is just not what I am looking for in my next vehicle.
May 20, 2021I absolutely love the trim, the cabin and overall interior. Its comfortable, roomy and has plenty of cargo space. Its no speed demon, but its not supposed to be... Its a JEEP!
February 2, 2021Comfortable to drive and is very nimble. Feels very safe.
August 25, 2020Great price with a lot of options. Well worth the purchase
February 2, 2024I like that its big, simple structure leading to less costly repairs, get relatively good gas mileage for what it is and surprised by the lower insurance costs compared to other vehicle. Add to that the resale value it keeps so its not a loss when selling its a solid choice. The marginal IIHS rollover is not good, but it doesnt effect its worth.
June 9, 2022This car was absolutely everything we wanted out of a jeep. The only thing it was missing was something that isn’t crazy important like the rearview camera. It was also missing weather stripping but it was ordered and on its way
