Only 504 were built for the 2019 model year and 915 across the model's entire run. When ordering opened on 14 January 2019, the whole American allocation of 275 cars was sold within hours, and Cadillac added a second run at a higher price to meet the demand. Production ended not for want of buyers but because General Motors converted the Detroit-Hamtramck factory to electric vehicle assembly.|At the centre of the car is the 4.2 liter Blackwing V8, designated LTA, the first V8 Cadillac engineered on its own since the Northstar. The block is aluminium with pressed-in iron liners, the main caps are cross-bolted, and the crankshaft and connecting rods are forged.
