Dealer's description

VIEW ALL 100+ PHOTOS ON OUR WEBSITE Offered for sale is this striking 1969 Ford Torino GT SportsRoof, finished in its beautiful Black Jade exterior with gold GT side stripes. The aggressive fastback styling is complemented by GT badging on the grille, wheel covers, and rear tail panel, while the factory-style Ram Air hood, hood pins, and hood-mounted turn signal indicators give this Torino the unmistakable presence of a late-1960s Ford performance car. One of the most impressive aspects of this Torino is its exceptional body condition. This example featuring its original sheet metal, including the original fenders, doors, and quarter panels. The underside is equally impressive, retaining its original floors, trunk, and shock towers with no rust issues present. Extensive underside photos are included in the listing to showcase the originality and condition of the body structurean increasingly rare quality in these cars after more than five decades. Power comes from a 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 featuring a desirable period-correct Day 2 Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold paired with a Holley carburetor. The engine bay presents with the character of a classic performance upgrade from the era, while still maintaining the spirit of a late-60s muscle car. The Ram Air hood assembly is present for appearance, although it is not functional and the hood has not been cut for induction. Power is sent through an FMX three-speed automatic transmission controlled by a B&M Lockout shifter. The car also features dual exhaust, providing the classic sound expected from a Ford V8. This Torino retains manual steering and manual drum brakes front and rear, offering the authentic driving experience of a classic muscle car. It rides on 14-inch Conti Trac 2000 GT tires that complement the cars period appearance. The black interior presents very well and features a bench seat with seat belts, GT door panels, a Philco AM radio, cigarette lighter, factory-style gauges for fuel, temperature, speed, and clock, along with a tachometer. The seats, door panels, dashboard, and headliner are all free of rips, tears, or major wear, making this Torino enjoyable to drive and show. A unique piece of the cars history remains intact with the original Terry Ford dealership plaque from Shoals, Indiana still mounted on the rear tail panel, documenting where this Torino was originally sold new. The front bumper presents in like-new condition, while the rear bumper shows some oxidation and could be replaced or refinished depending on the next owners preference. Finished in Black Jade, this Torino also carries a fun connection for movie enthusiasts. While it is a 1969 GT SportsRoof rather than the 1972 Torino featured in Gran Torino, the similar green color, fastback styling, and unmistakable Torino heritage make the resemblance immediately recognizable. At car shows and cruise nights, enthusiasts often notice the connection to Clint Eastwoods iconic movie car while appreciating the unique character and earlier styling of this GT. With its rust-free original body, desirable GT styling, 351 Windsor V8, tasteful period performance upgrades, and documented history from its original selling dealer, this 1969 Ford Torino GT SportsRoof represents a fantastic opportunity to own a distinctive piece of Ford muscle car history.
