That combination puts the car squarely in its intended territory: short gearing, a limited-slip out back, and a big-block with a wide torque curve.The chassis reflects the Cobra's competition suspension package, which was mandatory equipment with the 428 and consisted of higher-rate springs, a larger-diameter front stabilizer bar, and firmer shock valving. Four-speed cars also received the staggered rear shock arrangement, with one shock mounted ahead of the axle and one behind it, to control wheel hop under hard launches. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, with the front discs representing an option on these cars rather than base equipment. Inside, the black interior follows the Cobra's intentionally spare presentation, with the Fairlane 500 trim level Ford used to keep the car's price where it needed to be.The car carries its documentation in two directions. The Marti Report establishes how it was originally configured and built, while receipts and records cover a comprehensive repaint performed in the late 2000s along with an older restoration before it.
