Dealer's description
This 1996 Chevrolet C/K 3500 Series K3500 Silverado Regular Cab is a heavy-duty pickup from the final years of the GMT400 generation. The Silverado trim places it above the more basic work-oriented versions, while the K3500 designation identifies the four-wheel-drive one-ton chassis. The Regular Cab body keeps the interior simple and direct, with seating arranged for straightforward use and a shorter cabin than extended-cab versions. Chevrolet's mid-1990s truck design used broad surfaces, squared proportions, and an upright front end, all of which gave the series a familiar appearance during its production run. The body style was offered during a period when these trucks were commonly selected for demanding towing, hauling, and commercial duties, and the 3500 series sat at the upper end of the light-duty Chevrolet range before the larger medium-duty trucks. The Silverado trim typically included a more finished interior than lower trims, with upgraded materials and additional convenience items. Chevrolet used a dashboard design with large, legible controls and straightforward switchgear, and the instrument panel in these trucks was arranged for easy visibility. A regular cab placed the occupants close to the center of the vehicle, and the smaller cabin helped keep the driving position familiar to anyone used to full-size pickups of the era. In this generation, storage solutions were practical rather than elaborate, with the cabin focused on usefulness and durability. The seating area, door trim, and interior hardware reflected the construction standards of a truck intended for regular work use, while still carrying the Silverado identification associated with a higher equipment level within the line. The control layout was conventional for the period, with separate functions grouped in a way that was common across General Motors trucks of the time.Mechanical strength defined the K3500 series, and the one-ton rating gave this Chevrolet a place near the top of the consumer pickup hierarchy of its day. Four-wheel drive added traction for surfaces where added grip was needed, and the chassis was built to handle heavier loads than lighter C/K models. The 3500 designation also brought a stouter frame and running gear compared with half-ton and three-quarter-ton variants, along with hardware chosen for greater durability under repeated use. Chevrolet offered these trucks with powertrain combinations suited to labor-intensive work, and the platform was known for its serviceability and broad aftermarket support. The suspension and braking systems were engineered around the demands expected of a truck in this class, and the body-on-frame construction was standard for the segment. The truck's size, weight, and mechanical specification placed it in a category commonly used for towing equipment, carrying payloads, and handling conditions that required more than basic transportation. The exterior followed the squared, functional styling of Chevrolet trucks from the period, with a tall hood, rectangular headlamps, and a grille that matched the rest of the C/K family. The Regular Cab profile gave the body a compact cab section relative to the long bed area often paired with one-ton trucks, and the proportions were consistent with a truck built around utility. Door handles, mirrors, bumpers, and trim pieces were designed with practicality in mind, and the overall presentation remained rooted in mid-1990s GM truck design. These pickups were often chosen for their straightforward construction and the way individual components could be inspected, maintained, and replaced without unusual complexity. The K3500 Silverado carried Chevrolet's familiar badging and trim treatment for the era, and the nameplate sat within a truck line that had already established a reputation among owners who needed a full-size pickup with substantial capacity and four-wheel-drive hardware.----We've built an unmatched reputation over the last two decades for customizing and selling thousands of the highest quality used vehicles in the country.
