Dealer's description
1964 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway 2-Door HardtopFinished in Onyx Black over silver upholstery, this 1964 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway 2-Door Hardtop presents with 33,000 miles and a highly original body plate confirming its correct factory build. Decoded from the VIN, this Park Lane was assembled at the Wayne, Michigan plant in January 1964, originally equipped with the 390ci V8, a three-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.00:1 rear axle, and distributed through the Twin Cities District Sales Office. The car was originally sold new through Majon Motor Co. in Britt, Iowa. The Park Lane's signature feature is its reverse-slant Breezeway roofline, complete with a power-operated rear window a distinctive design element first introduced on Mercury's flagship models and among the most recognizable styling cues of the era. The car rides on 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in 225/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires, with drum brakes at all four corners, while chrome bumpers, quad headlights, and a remote-controlled left-side mirror round out the exterior presentation.Inside, front and rear bench seats are upholstered in silver cloth and vinyl, complemented by a heater, a clock, and a push-button AM radio for period-correct comfort and convenience. The steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, alternator charge, and coolant temperature, giving the driver a full accounting of the car's vital signs. Under the hood, the 390ci V8 has been fitted with headers, a Holley carburetor, and an oval-shaped air intake, delivering a mild performance upgrade over stock while retaining the character and sound of Ford-Mercury's FE-series big-block V8.Combining genuine low-mileage originality, documented factory build data, and the unmistakable Breezeway roofline that defined Mercury's flagship models of the era, this Park Lane offers a compelling opportunity to acquire a well-preserved, distinctive example of 1960s American luxury motoring.
