Dealer's description

1958 Chevrolet Apache For SaleThis 1958 Chevrolet Apache is a patina-finish driver from GM's Task Force generation, the series that introduced the Apache name to Chevy's light-duty trucks for 1958. Rather than chase a glossy restoration, this one keeps its weathered, worked-in exterior up top while running thoroughly modernized hardware underneath the kind of build that's meant to be driven and enjoyed, not trailered.Motivation comes from a 350 small-block Chevy with a performance cam, topped with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold and a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor a combination geared toward strong street manners and a healthy increase in airflow and throttle response over a stock setup. Power runs through an automatic transmission to a rear end spinning 3.55 gears, a ratio that splits the difference nicely between around-town drivability and a little extra punch off the line. The engine has also seen a long list of recent work: a new radiator, water pump, and fuel pump, fresh front and rear engine seals, a new valve cover and oil pan gasket, a new oil pan, a new gas tank, and new ignition wires. The cooling, fueling, and sealing systems have effectively been gone through. The chassis is where this truck departs most from a stock '58. It rides on an '80s Camaro front suspension swap a popular and well-proven upgrade for these Task Force trucks that brings noticeably better steering, ride, and braking geometry than the original setup. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, with new brake lines and diverter installed as part of the recent work. The electrical and accessory side has been addressed as well, with a new wiring harness, new fan belts, new front turn signal bulbs, a new high beam switch, new seat belts, refreshed hood hinges and lift springs, and a replaced windshield. The result is a patina Apache that looks its age on purpose but has been mechanically sorted to drive like something far newer a solid, usable classic hauler for someone who wants the look without the fragility.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic, modified, and luxury vehicles.
