The E-450 was built as a commercial/utility platform and the factory configuration emphasizes durability, load capacity and serviceability. Powertrain and chassis - 5.4L Triton V8, electronic fuel injection 225 hp, 335 lb-ft torque (factory rating). - Heavy-duty automatic transmission with overdrive (factory heavy-duty 4-speed automatic in typical configurations). - Rear-wheel drive layout on a reinforced Super Duty frame designed for commercial use. - Heavy-duty suspension components and leaf springs at the rear to support high load and towing duty.
