Dealer's description
Owning a Corvette is like being part of no other vehicle lineage in the world. America's longest-running model, Chevy's halo car is now in its eighth generation, and with each passing year, more of its previous seven iterations become more collectible. The C3, exemplified by this 1970 Chevrolet Corvette LS5 454 Stingray we have for you, has been slowly gaining popularity in the hearts and minds of collectors and enthusiasts over the last several years. Fully repainted in this impossible-to-miss Marlboro Maroon, this numbers-matching big block is one of just 4,473 made for the first year of the iconic LS5 V-8. Inside and beneath those versatile T-Tops, a black interior envelops you in a cockpit of gauges. The big speedometer and tachometer sit front and center of the upgraded wheel, while atop the center stack, we find fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, battery charge, and even an analog clock display all the pertinent information you might need or want. A retro-style AM/FM/Cassette stereo handles soundtrack duties. However, you'd be hard-pressed to try and drown out the sound of that massive (believed) numbers-matching 454 cubic-inch V-8 sitting under this 'Vette's signature front-hinged hood, upgraded with a single four-barrel Holley carburetor and shorty headers. From the factory, the stock LS5 was the biggest block made with hydraulic lifters, this V-8 produced an advertised and impressive 390 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. That power is then funneled through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission before being sent out to its standard-issue Posi rear end. Fifteen-inch wheels are shod in P235/65R-15 Goodyear Eagle G/A tires, while four-wheel power disc brakes wait to scrub off speed whenever called upon. If you've never owned a 'Vette before, this numbers-matching LS5 big block will make for an excellent introduction to America's longest-running car club. Call today!
