This GTS is certified and in the GTS registry as # 846 It has Power steering, Console Shifted HD 727 Auto Transmission and original 8-3/4 Sure Grip Rear End with 3:55 gears. This car has been in the same family for the last 24 years. Original body stampings, Original Fender tag and restored by Mopar specialist Dave Ferro, owner of Totally Auto Inc. in Feasterville PA. The Dart GTS was often considered the best sport compact from the Dodge Scat Pack lineup in 1969, marketed in the same model league as SS Camaro and GT Mustangs. This particular example was ordered with the high-winding 340 Cl V-8 engine. The 340 had arrived a year earlier to give Chrysler products a competent small-block to contend with the 350 Chevrolet and 302 Fords, and its lightweight design was considered by many to best enable the Dart to attain excellent handling and overall balance certainly more so than the A-body big-block options did. Under the hood the car retains the Original engine (Vin verified on block). Original Carter 4bbl, original and scarce exhaust manifolds, and original air cleaner with 340 pie pan. The exterior is painted in its original F8 Dark Green Metallic and features the GTS chrome trim, performance-design GTS Steel hood with inserts, and a black Sport stripe. Unlike the associated budget-offered Swinger, the GT Sport meant premium interior appointments as well. Here there are Factory GTS bucket seats, the C16 console with ball-knob shifter, pedal brightwork, Original Thumbwheel Radio the exclusive "GT SPORT" door trim, the A01 Light Group, a driver's remote mirror and exterior original moldings, chrome exhaust tips, "340 Four Barrel" hood callouts and a body-color gas cap complete the look. This car sports the correct steel painted body color wheels as well as Red Line Bias Ply tires.
