Vehicle Description The 2014 Kia Forte EX is the tech and power trim for this model year. While the base LX trim used a 1.8L engine, the EX was upgraded to a more robust 2.0L GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) 4-cylinder engine . This gave the Forte much better highway passing power and a more premium driving feel. The 2014 redesign was a massive leap forward for Kia, featuring a driver-centric cockpit and materials that felt much closer to a luxury sedan than a budget compact.
