The car was restored in 2002, including a full repaint, new upholstery, and a freshly built dual-port engine at the time. Shows approximately 12,000 miles since restoration and has had no accidents. Highlights: 1961 Ragtop Beetle 1600 dual-port engine Restoration completed in 2002 Fully repainted and reupholstered Soft top in great shape (no leaks) Interior is wonderful Solid pan / solid battery tray Minimal rust in decklid and doors Notes / Needs: Needs tires (dated from 2002) Exhaust gaskets need replaced (exhaust smell when heater is on) 2nd gear synchro grinds shifting 3rd 2nd (shifts fine with technique) A great-driving, well-presented ragtop Beetle with a solid foundation and only minor sorting needed to make it perfect.
