Dealer's description
HCC is please to offer a 1989 BMW E30 M3, specified in Zinnoberrot Red over a Black leather interior. Displaying 74,600 miles since new, the car was acquired from an enthusiast owner. This E30 M3 presents all VIN tags intact across the body panels, with VIN etching still present on the original front and rear glass. Introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, the E30 M3 served as a homologation special intended to satisfy the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft and Group A Touring guidelines. The E30 M3 was produced between 1986 and 1991, with this example joining the 27% that were imported into the United States. Buyers could select from eight exterior colors on the offered palette, with this example appointed in the iconic Zinnoberrot Red (later modernized into Cinnabar Red). Within the cabin, 11 interior upholstery options were available, with this example sporting a black leather interior. Power comes from a 2.3-liter inline-4 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The E30 M3 has long been regarded as a balanced and functional sports car. This example has been enhanced with a 2.5-liter stroker build, incorporating EVO components, including an EVO flywheel and EVO fuel injectors, along with a custom-tuned iGMoTiV chip paired to a brand-new ECU. The top end has been rebuilt with a machined cylinder head, new cams and lifters, valve adjustment, and new valve seals. A new oil pump has also been installed. Within recent ownership, this E30 M3 has undergone extensive mechanical work. A new clutch and flywheel were installed, along with throw-out and pilot bearings, and the alternator has been rebuilt. The cooling system was refreshed with a new radiator and hoses, with new engine mounts also fitted. The braking system was also addressed, including rebuilt calipers, new rotors and pads, a brake booster replacement, and servicing of the master cylinder. New ABS sensors were installed, and the car also received an Inspection II service during this period. The air conditioning system has been converted to R134a using a new expansion valve. Suspension components have been addressed with new front strut mounts and stabilizer end links, followed by a recent alignment. A Supersprint stainless sport exhaust system has been fitted, and the original exhaust will accompany the car. Cosmetic updates include the intake manifold and valve cover, which have been refinished in OEM black, and the wheels have been powder-coated and mounted with a fresh set of tires. Additional maintenance and cosmetic updates include new fog light lenses, new radiator fan components, new washer bottle and nozzles, new coolant expansion tank, new ignition components, new belts, and numerous bushings and sensors were replaced throughout. The car's first owner was reported in September 1989, receiving a New York title. In April 1997, the car switched hands to a caretaker in Southern Florida, where it remained for the next 18 years, even after another ownership change in September 2012. In December 2015, the car was sold to a New York-based owner. There the car remained until January 2021, when it was acquired and titled to Wisconsin. A Texas-based owner later acquired the car in August 2021. It has since remained in North Texas, where it underwent extensive cosmetic and mechanical work while being enjoyed by its last caretaker. This E30 M3 is offered with a clean CARFAX and a clean Texas title.
