2022 Porsche Macan AWD

Drew Dorian, with CARandDRIVER , wrote, the 2022 Porsche Macan can dice it up with sports sedans on a racetrack and carry a reasonable cartful of groceries home from Costco. The Macan can be had with either a turbocharged four-cylinder or a twin-turbo V-6. But no matter which engine you choose, the Macans chassis is an athletic partner that goads you to hit apex after apex. All models come with all-wheel drive as standard. Yes, it is an SUV, but it is also very much a Porsche. It fulfills its mission beautifully and earned an Editors Choice award for 2022. Porsche updated the Macans front and rear bumpers and added new wheel designs to the order form for 2022. The interior sports a reworked center console, steering wheel, and shift lever. The base turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder now makes 261 horsepower. With the base turbo four-cylinder, the Macan bounds to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. An SUV probably doesnt need to launch off the line as quickly as that, but we sure appreciate it. Quickness is important in a crossover with sporting intentions, but we wouldnt be nearly as impressed with the Macan if it werent for its all-around competence on the road. It feels remarkably like a sports sedan. The ride is wonderfully smooth and carefully controlled, and it is rare for a jolt from the pavement to make itself known to the driver. The steering is a tad lighter than it is in Porsches sports cars, but it is still super accurate and pleasantly tactile.
