Vehicle was then shipped to Bedford, IN by enclosed carrier and has remained in southern Indiana since. The current owner specifically sought this example out as it was an honest example, in great condition and included several desirable options including a 4-speed manual, original dealer installed air-conditioning and original hard top. Finished in Classic White (050) over Green Leather hides throughout, this 280SL presents as a period correct example, unrestored in original condition and accompanied by original documentation. Since 2014, the vehicle has been garaged in a climate controlled setting and has seen less than 4k miles. As a collector owned example, the vehicle has been driven on fair weather days. Once the seasonal driving weather had come to a close, the owner would visit on a monthly basis and start the vehicle until it reached operating temperature and drive a couple miles to ensure it was continuously exercised and operating as it should. The current owner has been a great steward of this well kept 280SL since 2014 and has decided its time to allow someone else carry on caring for such a wonderful piece of history.
