Under the trunk sits a 1.6 Liter flat 4 Cylinder that generates 46 horsepower - Back then it was called a 1600cc. Combined with the 4 Speed Manual transmission, this thing will send you to 60 miles per hour in just 23 seconds compared to a Porsche Turbo at 2.6 seconds. This rear drive machine has an incredible finish and looks amazing! You will love the simplicity of the speedometer and the seating. Nothing screams 'let's go to the beach' like our Thing - This is from a free time in the automobile evolution free of airbags but surrounded by steel, free of anti-lock brakes but surrounded by strong brakes and grippy tires, free of power windows but surrounded by sunshine - this Thing will make you smile. In case you wonder, parts are shared with the Beetle and the Micro-Bus making this affordable to maintain. Not all classics can say that. Be the talk of the neighborhood or just put this Thing in your garage as the trophy it is. This is one of 25,000 that was imported to the USA from 1973-74!
