2020 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG GT R CARBON FIBER PACKAGE, CONVENIENCE PACKAGE, IRIDIUM SILVER MAGNO, AND MORE! OVERVIEW The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R is one of the most hardcore AMG road cars of the modern era. It takes the already dramatic AMG GT platform and pushes it closer to a street-legal race car, borrowing heavily from AMG's GT3 racing program. Power comes from a hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged AMG V8, producing 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, launching the GT R from 0-60 mph in around 3.5 seconds. Throttle response is immediate, and the torque hits hardespecially in Race modemaking every acceleration feel violent in the best way. The chassis is where the GT R truly separates itself. It features rear-wheel steering, active aerodynamics, electronically controlled coilover suspension, a carbon fiber torque tube, and extensive lightweight materials throughout. Massive brakes and ultra-wide Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires give it enormous grip. The adjustable traction control system allows the driver to fine-tune how much slip they want, making it as composed or as tail-happy as you dare. Visually, the GT R looks like it escaped from a racetrack. The aggressive Panamericana grille, flared fenders, rear wing, and wide stance give it an unmistakable presence. Large front air intakes and a functional rear diffuser complete the race-ready look. Inside, the cabin balances performance focus with Teutonic craftsmanship. Nappa leather, microfiber accents, carbon fiber trim, and deeply bolstered AMG Performance seats create a cockpit that feels tight and driver-centric. The center console is filled with performance controls, allowing quick access to suspension, exhaust, and drive modes.
