Dealer's description

HIGHLIGHTS: Believed to be 51,400 Actual-Mile Survivor with branded actual mileage on a clean title Highly reliable factory 350ci small-block V8 and 3-speed automatic transmission The most dependable car on our floor because it fires up instantly every single time without a trickle charger Complete unrestored time capsule down to the original two-tone paint configuration Get the iconic 1972 Chevelle front end for a fraction of the hardtop coupe price BODY OVERVIEW: Let's address the elephant in the room. This is a four-door sedan, not a two-door hardtop. If you have priced 1972 Chevelles lately, you know those extra two doors save you about twenty thousand dollars. This is a structurally solid Idaho car that has spent 54 years on the road. The body has honest dings and imperfections from decades of use, along with some visible corrosion behind the rear wheels that we highlighted in the photos. It sits on a set of aggressive rally wheels with fresh Cooper Cobra tires, and we are including the original steel wheels and factory hubcaps with the sale. PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The exterior wears an older repaint of its original factory two-tone Mulsanne Blue and Antique White combination. The finish has regular driver-quality flaws, but it still cleans up well and presents honestly in the sunlight. All factory badges, trim pieces, and chrome bumpers are intact and in good condition. We are not hiding the flaws because this car is an authentic, unrestored piece of 1972 Americana, not a trailer queen. INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior is an impressive sea of original factory blue cloth and vinyl. The door panels, carpet, and dash are all original and preserve the exact look of an early 1970s family sedan. The factory steering wheel, gauges, and vents are all in place, though the original radio was updated years ago to an Audiovox cassette player. The drivers seat shows its age with split vinyl and exposed foam, which is currently protected by a temporary seat cover. It lets you haul four of your friends around in genuine vintage style. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: We inventory high-end classics, restomods, and muscle cars, but this four-door Malibu puts them all to shame when you turn the key. It features its original 350ci small-block Chevy V8 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. It starts instantly, runs whisper-quiet, and drives straight down the road. With factory power steering, you can guide this large sedan with one finger. It retains its original manual drum brakes that stop firmly and predictably. It even still has its old engine block heater plug from its winters in the northwest. There are no battery draws, no electrical gremlins, and no drama. WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The mechanical reliability is absolute gold. You can drive this classic anywhere tomorrow with complete confidence. It is the most affordable way to get into a 1972 Chevelle, making it a great cruiser for the whole family or an excellent, straight platform for an LS-swap sleeper build. WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: It has four doors, an older repaint with visible flaws, and some rust behind the rear wheels. This car is meant to be driven and parked at local cruise-ins, not judged at a high-end concours show. DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The car is turn-key and ready to cruise as it sits. For the sake of complete transparency, the wiper switch housing is loose inside the dashboard, though the wipers themselves work perfectly. WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This Malibu is perfect for a budget-minded enthusiast who wants an authentic, easy-to-own 1970s classic to take the family out for ice cream on the weekends. It is also an ideal buy for a hot-rod builder looking for a highly reliable, un-mutilated classic sedan to build into a high-horsepower custom street machine.
