Dealer's description

HIGHLIGHTS: Beautiful, quality restoration! Show stopper! Same owner 30+ years! Yellow on yellow! Power top! 283 V8 w/ 3-speed manual! VC VIN Bel Air! Fender skirts & continental kit! BODY OVERVIEW: This Bel Air was restored for a private, North Carolina collector in the early 1990s. It was driven very infrequently post-restoration, and still presents almost as a fresh restoration. As a result, everything about it is stunning! This was no low-budget, backyard restoration. This is a meticulously restored car that presents in nearly correct condition for 1957, down to the sticker on the air cleaner, and more. The body is straight, the trim looks great, and it has all the hallmarks of what today would be a 6-figure restoration. This Bel Air is a beauty! Buyers should note that the door glass doesnt quite align with the convertible top, and the passenger side quarter glass frame is split. PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This Bel Air was fully repainted during the restoration, and has maintained its original color of Colonial Cream, which is really kind of a yellow color. Yellow colors arent for everyone, but regardless the painter sure knew what they were doing with this one. It looks like glass, and shines like a diamond! Imperfections are at a truly extreme minimum, especially considering the age of the restoration. This car looks more like it was painted last year rather than last century! INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior is a similar yellow, which looks great with the matching exterior color. Much like the exterior, wear and imperfections are at a minimum as this car was built to display and be driven sparingly. All interior soft materials look and show fantastically, and just like the exterior this car presents like a much more recent restoration than it is. There are no modifications, no goofy gauges mounted under the dash, and no aftermarket stereo rammed into the dashjust pure 1957 Chevy style the way it was intended to be! Even the dash looks fantastic. This Bel Air is a time machine back to the mid-century era! MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is a period-correct 283 V8, a tried and true choice for any Tri-Five Chevrolet! This 57 purrs like an absolute kitten and the dual quad carburetors sure dont hurt anything either. Despite the dual exhaust, it has a fairly quiet and confident exhaust note, which is exactly what you expect from a vintage luxury vehicle. The 3-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly, and adds that extra level of driver-engagement most enthusiasts seek in a classic car. Theres no A/C, and no power steering, but thats just another reminder of what cars were like in the mid-1900s! This Bel Air convertible is nothing short of a show-stopper, from top to bottom. WHAT YOULL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: High-quality restoration sure to satisfy most Tri-Five snobs and enthusiasts alike Super clean presentation Lengthy ownership by private collector Topless fun! WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: High-quality restoration, but not by the book factory correct Manual transmissions arent for everyone DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The original-style, restoration correct tires are old The reverse lights stay on at all times when the key is on WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Whether youre a Tri-Five enthusiast looking for a collection centerpiece, or simply a mid-century admirer looking to take your garage aesthetic to the next level, this drop top 57 is sure to satisfy!
