The car on offer here is this very rare 1936 Ford Model 68 Station Wagon. The car has been beautifully maintained both cosmetically and mechanically, and is certainly one of the finest in existence today. Presented with a high level of originality. The exterior has clearly been refinished and extensive recent service has been completed. The Braking system was converted to hydraulic Brakes from the 1939 Model year. The entire fuel system was replaced in 2020. Metal and wood panels, trim, glass, the interior, and powertrain all appear well-maintained. Other key features of this woodie wagon include its original mirror clock, a period portable radio comes with the car and Southwind heater factory optional two-speed Columbia differential.

FEATURES

- Upgraded to 1939 Hydraulic Brake system

- Rebuilt Original 21 stud, 85 horsepower Flathead V8

- The overall condition presents as a mix of original, refinished and well maintained.

- Extensive maintenance history

- The wood panels are in excellent condition, they could be original, but we have no way of knowing for sure. It has a great patina.

- Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a REBUILT three-speed manual transmission.

- The Rear end was rebuilt with 351 highway gearing, giving highway usability at 60 mph

Recent work includes but is not limited to the following

- All trim is complete and presents well.

- All glass and lighting is original, complete and undamaged. (first year for glass, replacing canvas side curtains).

The dash is excellent, including all plastic and trim

- All gauges have been restored, work well and as designed

- The odometer reads 71,850 miles, though true mileage is unknown.

- The restored rear view mirror clock, works well

The three rows of seats are covered in tan vinyl it has has recently been restored, including the correct black rubber mats

Sixteen-inch painted steel wheels include original Ford hub caps and trim rings

The carburetor, fuel tank, fuel filter, sending unit and fuel lines were all new in 2024

Comes with full complement of original tools, extensive original documentation

This Wagon has been fully fettled, runs beautifully and needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner. It starts quickie on the floor switch!! She runs and drives as designed.
