Dealer's description
1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK1A For Sale1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk I the rare Anglo-American roadster born from a collaboration between Rootes Group and Carroll Shelby. Powered by Ford's 260 cu in V8, this Tiger maintains its original character while benefiting from tasteful, performance-minded updates. The engine features an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and carburetor, paired with an MSD Blaster 2 ignition system for reliable spark and crisp throttle response. A 4-speed manual transmission channels power through a 2.88 rear gear, offering the kind of analog driving feel enthusiasts cherish. This Tiger was acquired from a museum in Minnesota in 2011 and has since been stored in heated, covered conditions when not in use. The top end of the engine was rebuilt with original components a few years ago, preserving authenticity while ensuring longevity.Performance additions include a custom roll bar, custom traction bars, and distinctive side pipes that give the car a commanding sound and stance. The 16-inch Weld Racing wheels complete the look while allowing room for front disc brakes and rear drums. Inside, an NRG Innovations woodgrain steering wheel (with the original included) complements the soft-top convertible cabin, which also features an upgraded Bluetooth-enabled radio for modern convenience.A well-preserved and properly sorted example of the first-generation Tiger, this Mk I blends period-correct charm with subtle upgrades that enhance its drivability without sacrificing its heritage.See the "videos" tab above this description box for a cold start and walk around.
