Dealer's description
5,903 Original Miles R1 Package Twin-Turbocharged 1.3L Rotary 5-Speed Manual /// This 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 is a true time capsule showing just 5,903 original miles, one of only 1,177 finished in factory Vintage Red and owned by only two collectors since new. Offered for one year only, the R1 package was the most focused and track-ready variant of the FD3S chassis, featuring firmer suspension, dual oil coolers, front and rear strut tower braces, and unique aero components including a front air dam and rear wing. This example remains in mint, showroom-level condition throughout. The paint retains its factory gloss and depth, the bodywork is laser-straight, and the car still wears its original 16-inch wheels wrapped in 1992-date-coded Bridgestone Expedia S-02 tires that show no signs of dry-rot...further proof of long-term, climate-controlled storage. Under the hood, the 13B-REW 1.3-liter two-rotor engine with sequential twin turbochargers delivers 255 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque through a 5-speed manual gearbox. In its day, the RX-7 R1 could out-accelerate a Ferrari 348 and stop shorter as well, earning it praise as a giant-killer among '90s performance icons. The interior is equally well preserved, with seats, plastics, and trim showing virtually no wear and offering a clean, period-correct feel throughout. This R1 represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the best-preserved, lowest-mile FD RX-7s in existence. As values on Japanese performance legends continue to climb, this FD is not only an outstanding collector-grade car but also a smart investment in a rapidly appreciating market.
