Dealer's description
The 2013 Ford Explorer marked a significant point in the model's history, as it was the year Ford introduced the high-performance 'Sport' trim. While the 2013 model is praised for its car-like handling and upscale interior, it also comes with a few 'red flag' mechanical warnings that any buyer in 2026 should know.Performance & Engine OptionsFord offered three distinct ways to power the Explorer in 2013:The Workhorse (3.5L V6): Most used models have this. It produces 290 hp and is the only engine capable of the maximum 5,000 lbs towing capacity. The Fuel-Sipper (2.0L EcoBoost): A turbocharged 4-cylinder that gets better gas mileage (up to 28 MPG highway), but it was only available in Front-Wheel Drive (FWD).The Powerhouse (3.5L Twin-Turbo V6): Exclusive to the Sport trim, delivering 365 hp. It turned the Explorer into a surprisingly quick family hauler with standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD).Interior & CapacityThe 2013 Explorer is a true three-row SUV, though the 'way-back' is best for kids.Seating: Standard for 7 passengers.Cargo: You get 80.7 cubic feet of space with all seats down. With all seats up, you still have about 21 cubic feetenough for a few upright suitcases.Tech: This was the era of MyFord Touch. While it looks modern with its dual screens in the gauge cluster, it is notoriously slow and glitchy compared to today's systems.www.ellectramotors.com@Ellectra_MotorsEllectra Motors224 E 1St StreetSanta Ana, CA 92701Tel & Text: 951.900.1614
