Dealer's description
This automobile has been stored in heated indoors all of its life and has all of its original parts with the following exceptions: Original windshield changed for a tinted one Radiator repaired -hoses and clamps-water pump replaced New battery All new exhaust system and stainless-steel exhaust tips Rebuilt power brake booster and brake cylinder and new wheel cylinders Four new BF Goodrich Silvertown Tubeless Bias ply white wall tires This automobile was built to the specifications desired by Ester Bushway of the long since gone, Bushway Ice Cream Co. of Sommerville Ma. As a gift for the personal use of her chauffeur. Because she believed that it would reflect poorly on her, for an employee to have the same luxuries as a woman of her status, she made sure there would not be any luxuries, no power windows, power seat, or air conditioning, incorporated into the vehicle, even a radio, as she did not believe in her chauffeur having them. Mr. Henry R Snyder claimed to have researched out Cadillacs and believe this was the only one built this way. Henry R Snyder bought it with 3400 miles and put 200 miles on it. After Henry R Snyder, it was purchased by Jennie and Bill Horne of Lynnfield Ma. in 1985. With 3600 miles on it and they put 176 miles to total 3776. They entered it in many local shows and won many accolades. When they passed away the vehicle was stored in indoor heated storage. We purchased the vehicle in 2022. We have gone thru the vehicle to make sure all systems are go. In 1956, The Series 62 included a lower sleeker body, a new cellular grille insert, and inverted gull wing front bumpers and tapered dagmar style bumper guards. Round jet-style dual exhaust outlets were incorporated into the vertical bumper extensions and the rear bumper was entirely redesigned. There was a new grille, with finer textured insert, and the repositioning of the parking lights in the bumpers, below the wing guards. Buyers were given an option of the standard satin finish grille or an optional gold finish. Cadillac script was found on the left side. A narrow chrome molding and nine vertical louvers were seen. The Series 62 Sedan de Ville, Cadillac's first standard production 4-door sedan, given their sales success, power steering was now standard. The turning circle was 43.5 ft. wide and ground clearance is 8.25 inches. Popular Mechanics rated a 0-60 mph time of 12.0 seconds, fuel economy for a traffic route at 8.3mpg, and a very accurate speedometer.
