Federal Used Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (up to $4,000) The 2015 Chevrolet Volt, classified as a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), qualifies for the federal used clean vehicle tax credit. This credit applies to vehicles purchased on or after January 1, 2023, and offers up to $4,000 or 30% of the vehicles purchase price, whichever is lower. Eligibility Requirements: Vehicle Requirements: Battery capacity must be at least 7kWh (the 2015 Volt has approximately 17.1kWh). Sale price must not exceed $25,000. The model year must be at least two years prior to the year of purchase. The vehicle must be purchased through a licensed dealer. The vehicle must be primarily used within the United States.
