Dealer's description

Brief History of the Beetle; When the first Type 1 rolled off the production line in 1945, it was simply called the Volkswagen - "The People's Car". However, its distinctive shape inspired nicknames across the globe almost immediately. Referred to commonly as the Kรคfer, Vocho, Coccinelle, Fusca, or Maggiolino; the Beetle sold more than 21.5 million first-generation models, making it the one of the most popular cars of all time. Considered by many to be a masterpiece of innovation and economics - the Beetle was compact and practical while also being inexpensive to buy and maintain. The innovative air-cooled engine required less maintenance and was much easier to fix compared to cars produced in the U.S. at the time. Perhaps somewhat ironically, the Beetle came to be a symbol of freedom and individuality. In the United States, it was also a symbol of counter-culture, peace, and unity. After many successful years and millions of cars produced, Volkswagen finally decided to retire the Beetle in 2019, exactly 70 years after it was first offered to the US consumer; Specifications; 1964 Volkswagen Beetle; 92,115 miles shown, TMU; Four Cylinder 1600cc; Four-speed Manual Transmission; Black exterior - in overall Good Condition; All brightwork in overall good condition; Floor pans in very good condition; Chrome hubcaps, white wall style tires; Orange and cream interior in excellent condition; Vehicle has been serviced and inspected by a 3rd party mechanic; Our Rating: Classic Car; At CCC we look at eight major characteristics and give our cars an overall condition score on a five-point scale.
